Holy Spam Batman! Can we get a Mod on this board please?!?!

I thought that was what the Report button was for? I hope I didn't misstep by reporting one of them, I thought that would bring attention to it (and I did mention in my reason that there were more).

You may be right. I was honestly afraid to click on one of the posts to report it though in case it opened something crazy on my computer!

I reported one as well - that seems to get the attention of the staff just fine, esp. if they start seeing multiple reports. Unless a Moderator is actually looking at a board, they won't see a thread asking for them - and if they were looking at the board, then they saw the problem and didn't need to be told :)

What type of posts are reported?

This morning the board was flooded with threads in some Asian language (I'm not good at deciphering the different character sets so I won't attempt to say which one), clearly they were spam. Moderators cleaned it all up before many folks realized.

Anything that violates the guidelines can be reported. Check here for what those are: http://www.disboards.com/help/guidelines/ Although I think many of us try to take a "live and let live" approach and only report serious things (and spam - I report all spam LOL).

I go to Monterey about every two weeks. Love it there.
Lived in area for 16 years. Just moved across country. Monterey Peninsula and the surrounding areas are truly beautiful. But it's too expensive to live there and the public schools are the worst.

I put the author of those kinds of post on my ignore list. Anytime someone on your ignore list authors a thread, you don't see it at all if you're logged in. Doing this removes all the spam threads from my view and I can navigate the board easily until someone banishes the spammer and removes the threads.

I didn't know that was an option!
