Holy Diagon Alley Batman!

Your case in point shows that attractions sometimes need to be delayed before opening to general public to work out the issues. Universal had problems with the opening of Forbidden Journey as well.

How understanding are those guests that waited over 3 hours + the time it took just to get to Diagon Alley that they were kicked out of line and then learned that they werent even running the attraction at full capacity today.

Its amazing how glitches at Disney are unacceptable with a new system but somehow Universal gets a pass.
Who said that Disney glitches are unacceptable but Universal gets a pass? I must have missed that but it's really the same thing for both. I'll give any NEW attraction a pass but otherwise it's ridiculous if it happens too often at either place.

Maybe you should write to Universal and suggest they ditch the high tech rides and instead focus on Omnimover attractions, Dumbo type rides and slow moving boat rides. Those seem to work well. Or better yet, maybe they could add a new parade or rename the nightly fireworks after whatever the popular "flavor of the month" is. Putting out high tech, state of the art cutting edge attractions is way to risky. After all, it could take them several days to work out the bugs.

There is no straw man argument here at all. These are REAL issues that happened to paying guests today that somehow are acceptable in your book but not acceptable over at Disney.

No doubt that the immersion experience is incredible but that doesnt excuse the issues in customer service, ride breakdowns, and not running at full capacity on opening day.

And 1000s of guests came into the park today with the expectation of riding Gringotts today and paid good money to do so but were denied because of poor execution by Universal.

I guess Universal fans wear rose colored glasses at times as well...

Maybe many guests are visiting more than 1 day. Wait that can't be right Universal isn't a vacation destination. Silly me

Are you seriously clueless on just how much the kiddie coaster has been shut down since it's "grand opening" or do you just post on Universal threads?

And I haven't said a damn thing about it....until now. Check it out. And nice to see you didn't lose power.

Amazing how the deflection continues. You will not address the issues at Universal today and go into full on attack mode.

Again I ask. Why did these leaders of innovation and technology at Universal experience so many issues today? Wasnt the opening of Forbidden Journey riddled with glitches and breakdowns as well? Not with just ride glitches and breakdowns but with not even running a ride at full capacity which inflated the line times and caused a customer service mess when they had to turn people away who had been waiting for multiple hours.

Hell, it took Disney 7 months to figure out that Frozen was popular *gasp*. Think of all the 4 year old girls who will grow up to spout the wisdoms of snowmen. Ah, what the parks "could" have been. *sigh*

I do find it interesting that the largest Internet forum for Universal is found on a website pretty much dedicated to all things Disney with a few segments put aside to appease the Universal fans.

You would think that with all of the people flocking to Universal as their primary destination, there would be much more activity with their followers requiring an entirely separate forum.

Oh, wait....

All Hail Disney :worship:

the ones that were in line and couldn't do that ride due to a breakdown were given a free park ticket to return the next day.
or when ever they planned to return.

Disney probably would have charged for that. Wait that's not fair they would have only charged half the gate price. ;)

You see, this is the problem with Universal fan boys. They come under the guise that they are a fan of a Disney and Universal but whenever they think Universal is under attack, they are very quick to try to minimize Disney's appeal. Nothing wrong with being a Universal fan boy but you should really own it rather than pretending to ride the fence.

No deflections, just reality. Any new attraction of that complexity is bound to have some bugs to work out, especially on opening day. Same thing happened to Disney on many occasions. As for customer service, Universal is typically very good about that and from what I've read, today was no exception.

Hey, I'm not a Hufflepuff. I'm a Slytherin.:rotfl:

Fine. The ride opened with issues, as did FJ. That sucks.

Now, do you actually know how many days the kiddie coaster has been shut down since opening? No deflection there....just similarity. The two rides you mention are far above and beyond ANYTHING at all to do with a kiddie coaster that people have been waiting 3 years to ride. Do you find it acceptable that people who booked FP+ in advance, only to have their plans dashed upon arrival are forced to change it up?

Speaking of GR....how many pics have we seen of the lines at WDW vs Universal? Or do you just post in Universal threads?

That is not what several people on twitter have reported. They were given express passes not park tickets.

Save your silly insults. I have annual passes to WDW that cost me about 2.5X what my Universal passes cost. Also been on 7 Disney cruises, including 2 earlier this year and own pretty much every animated movie they've released. Being in touch with reality and having the ability to see beyond the "Pixie Dust Bubble" doesn't make one a fanboy of the nearest competitor.

Of course new rides are going to have some issues on opening day. But a reasonable person wouldnt have expected that they would have run the attraction at half capacity.

And you cannot convince me that it is good customer service to turn away people that have waited that long. Unless of course, the ride was completely broken down which again is indicative of a larger issue.

Oh wow...You actually believe that mine train is Disney's answer to HP? I didn't get that until just now. :rotfl2::rotfl:

If not, I guess you will need to explain why are you trying to compare the two? It's like comparing apples and oranges.

I've been to Disney 50 times. That is why I KNOW the difference. Universal is kicking their *** right now and I can see it. Call it what you will. It's people like yourself (and UN...Pluto)who like to draw lines. It doesn't have to be like that.

Maybe if Universal required anywhere close to as much planning as WDW then there would be more discussion.
