EE is a roller coaster. It's called Expedition Everest: Mission Himalayas. You'll be transported via train up the mountain and suddenly you meet the Yeti!

2006 is the projected opening date.

It states that it is an 80 foot drop! Does anyone know the height of the drop on Splash Mountain? I can barely get myself to go on that ride....but I really want to ride EE!

The drop at Splash Mountain is 5 stories. If memory serves me, 1 story = 12 feet.

The pictures of the ride vehicle, Steam Donkey trains, looks like the restraints are similar to, if not the same, as The Mummy at Universal. Those restriants are not pooh sized friendly My best friend could not join me on The Mummy in December and my DF (will be DH by the time EE opens)will not be able to join me on EE if the restraints are the same. He was so looking forward to it in the future. I really hope I'm wrong.

Anyone else who has done the Mummy think the restraints look the same?

I have read on quite a few threads on this site that all rides at Disney are Pooh friendly. And I have seen several compare both WDW and Universal and they say that Universal is not Pooh friendly.

From experience (my own with a pooh sized person with me) this is true for all existing rides. Was wondering about this one just from the pictures provided. I've done all of Disney and Universal and those pictures are looking too Mummy like (the restraints at least).

The restraints on EE should be fine for just about everyone. It is a recheting bar, individualized, no seatbelts to buckle. I would not worry about it the imageneers would not make a e ticket that does not accomodate the masses.

Being a rollercoster enthusiast I can't wait for EE to open. When I looked at the ride specifics though I thought I was going to be dissapointed (it has no looping sections), but looking at the pictures it does look like it will be great. The only thing I would say though is that a vertical drop and a what this describes as a straight drop are two different things. There are only 3 vertical drop coasters in the world (coasters with a 90 degree drop), the first being Oblivion at Alton Towers in England (which I have been on too many times to count!), the 2nd called G5 in Japan and the third is Sheikra which opens at Busch Gardens Florida this month. This coaster has a 200 foot vertical drop!!!! and then a second and slightly smaller vertical drop. I can't wait to ride either of these rides!!

Its being built at Animal Kingdom in Asia. We were there a couple of weeks ago and the construction looks fantastic.

No official ETA has been announced, but I have heard they are shooting an official opening sometime the beginning of 2006.
