Is it really that bad? We have the FDP and this was the only place available. Trying to figure out if I should just call everyday to try to get it changed or what?pirate:

We really like H&V. Sure, there are better buffets out there, but the food is good. We go every time we visit. We have not had a bad meal here yet. Just as long as you understand it is not a gourmet restaurant, nor is it a counter service restaurant, then you are good. The salmon is very good as well as the pasta in cream sauce. Desserts are okay and they also have the ice cream station too.

Thank you! I am just leery b/c of all the bad reviews. We are a party of & so it was hard to FDP anyways. If it's like a Golden Coral then that's ok but some people are telling horror stories and now the wife is paranoid. It is our 2 nephews and niece first trip so we have to show them F!:woohoo:

I don't like most buffets and maybe this is a standard buffet but I have never booked it again after trying it once. I do really like CP so I don't dislike all buffets. If we are going to have TS at Hollywood Studios I book 50's PT or Mama Melrose, we have never tried the Brown Derby yet.

I think my wife is not too sold on it b/c of the bad reviews. However, is MM good at lunch or dinner? We have a lunch ressie for a different day.

We went once and it was terrible; went a second time and it was terrible again. We wish we had not gone back the second time. I'd rather stand in line for Fantasmic than eat at H&V again.

I've been there for both breakfast and dinner, but dinner was a long time ago. It'll be fine.

We love Hollywood & Vine did it for our Fantasmic package last year and the buffet was great . We have it booked once again for the Fantasmic package this year and even if we weren't going to do Fantasmic I would have still have booked it . If your looking for unusual or fancy food this is not your place though , it's just very basic foods , down home cooking as I call it , which we love :) Hope this helps & have a great trip :)

No it is not fine. We were just there last week and the meat is so tough you cannot eat it. Our teens eat well but they couldn't cut it.

We were there 7 yrs ago for the breakfast and it was ok so we thought we would try the supper.

You can get by on the salads but that is it. I am comparing it to the other buffets we went to: Boma at AKlodge and German Beer Gardens. Same meal credit value but not the same value. The table is smaller and details are not what they should be for a meal.

We like H and V. They have a good selection and we have always gotten good service. We have done it quite a few times and still would choose to go back.

I was nervous about this place as well after reading all the bad reviews. But it was a great meal. We would definetly eat there again. Dont worry about it. We had a 4:55 ADR with Fantasmic and everything worked out great:thumbsup2

I agree with those who liked H&V. Mom and I went for our trip last year. It was good not wonderful but worth going to again. Service was a tad slow but it was a busy time!

It's fine, not to worry. Standard buffet food, nothing fancy but not terrible or anything.

Believe it or not, this is one of our daughter's favorite places to eat. We do the FDP nearly every trip. Good food, not great. Nice variety.

We went to H&V on our first night in Dec. 2008. The food was good, especially the salads and the salmon. Don't forget the spoon bread!!! I was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews, but for a bunch of tired folks, including small children, the food was just what we needed to ease into the Disney experience, and the loud background covered the fact that my nephew was freaking out! :thumbsup2

I'm kind of a "food snob", and actually was pleasantly surprised with H&V. I say go and enjoy, you'll still walk out full.

YES!!!!!!:scared1: IMHO, here's what I would do....just eat CS all day at DHS. In the meantime, try (like crazy) to get ADR anywhere else--even on another day. It would be hard for me to use an ADR on H&V, knowing that Le Cellier, Coral Reef, & O'hana's take the same amount of TS credits! :confused3 I would eat 2 big TS meals in one day--in order to eat CS all day at DHS.

No flames, please!! WDW just has so many wonderful options & we were really disappointed with H&V.

I liked the food there last time we went. Not gourmet, but fine with plenty of choices-However the demon spawn of the party next to us that almost landed on our table....that I had a problem with. Our waiter was great.
