Hollywood & Vine - no availability May 26?

I called this morning and again this afternoon to try to get Hollywood & Vine for lunch for a family of 4 on May 26. I was told there was no availability the entire day and that perhaps the restaurant had not been uploaded into the system yet for availability.

How common is this? When should I try again?

Should I make a "back up" reservation elsewhere in case this doesn't come open?

I should add that we are checking in May 21, so normally this would be open to us by now. I successfully booked another restaurant for May 27 this morning.

I've been trying to get breakfast at Hollywood and Vine for the middle of May and there doesn't seem to be any availability. I have tried for at least 7 days worth of reservations.

Does anyone know if there is something going on with this restaurant?

This sort of question comes up here a lot, the typical response is "keep trying." Many times you'll be successful landing your ADR at a later date. Touring Plans has a feature that will notify you if an ADR you seek is available. I am a bit surprised that H&V would be fully booked at this point, but that's Memorial Day weekend--aka the unofficial start of summer, so that's likely to be a busy time. Do keep trying though, I think you'll get in.

^ In this particular case, though, it's only Hollywood and Vine that seems to be affected. There are multiple lists detailing the same issue of not being able to get reservations from May 14 and onward, and the general consensus is that they are either going down for a refurb or just haven't loaded the spots into the system yet.
