Hollywood & Vine - disappointed

I was very disappointed with Hollywood and Vine. I found the food to be awful - like they forgot to add salt and spices. The rice dish was hard - like they did not cook it enough. The pasta tasted very bland. The waitress never smiled. My FIL had a birthday button and she never acknowledged his birthday even though anyone could plainly see the button. She never picked up our dishes and our table ended up looking so covered with dishes. I was very disappointed. I am not one to complain but I really did not enjoy the food. The dessert was fine - just the meal. I was very upset with the 18% gratuity which was added to our meal. This woman was terrible.
Will never eat here again.

I haven't been on the boards for a while. This is one place I don't hold back on...when reviewing it. The food is inedible. It is the worst food I have ever eaten at WDW. Our waitress was awful too. No refills....plates stacked up....finally gave up on coffee with dessert. I will never eat there again.

Wow - I guess I am not the only one. I wonder if we had the same waitress. My waitress never smiled and rolled her eyes if we asked for drinks, etc.
It was such a horrible experience. I am so upset with the 18% gratuity which was automatically added on.

This place is horrid....the food was terrible, the service non existant and the place was full of dirty tables..we just piled our dirty plates onto the table next to us since the server never took them away....no one noticed.

This is a place that we will never go back to and give it a second chance

We've done it twice--NEVER again. Horrible service and food both times.

I've been to H&V once. Our waitress was good but the food was average at best and it was a bit of a mess. We had a 20 min wait with PS and spent all of that time looking at empty tables covered with dirty dishes. The table next to us kept getting plates full of food, would eat about 1/4 of what they got and would leave the rest for removal. This happened at least 3 times!! Because I think that complete waste of food may have colored my trip, I may give it one more try (only place left for Fantasmic seating for my next visit) but I don't have high hopes - especially after reading this thread.

Wow! What a difference a few months makes. I had my head bit off the last time I reviewed H&V. Looks like we all feel pretty much the same.

I just returned from Disney and I should have read this review before going to Hollywood and Vine. The food is terrible and so is the service. Skip this place unless you have a cast iron stomach.

I, too, hate Hollywood and Vine! It is the ONLY restaurant at Disney that I refuse to ever go back to.

I agree! My husband and I went here on our honeymoon and it was aweful. The only restaurant in our last two trips that we hated.

We dined there a few years back with an early ADR, shortly eafter they opened. Same story, nasty restaurant, plates left on dirty tables through our entire dinner while people stood outside waiting to get in. Inedible food and a lackluster, at best server that had to be constantly tracked down to bring us drink refills. We were NOT on the DDP so his tip reflected the poor service thankfully. DH put it on his short "never again" list :rotfl:

Our family will never go back. The food is disgusting/awful. The service poor. It is one of the worst restaurants in WDW.

I have adrs there for Fantasmic. From what I am hearing, it isn't worth it just to have a guaranteed seat??? I'm thinking I would rather wait in line:confused3

We had breakfast there in February for the Play 'n Dine character meal and LOVED it! The food was really good (husband is picky and still comments that he liked H&V) and the service was great! Loved the characters too. I guess I should skip the other meals though?

Hi Experts!

I just made reservations at Play n Dine...Is this the same restaurant as H&V?

I saw a good breakfast review (I'm scheduled for lunch), and was wondering if I should keep my reservation or not.

I am glad I found this board. We have always meant to try this place but never find the time. I now know that maybe that was fate intervening lol Thanks for the reviews guys!!

We ate here for our Fantasmic package and I can honestly say that it wasn't worth it and we would never do it again. The food was terrible, the service very poor and the place is SO LOUD you can't hear your dinner companion. This was, by far, the worst meal of our last trip.

We didn't care for the reserved Fantasmic seating you get as part of the package either and would much prefer to wait in line for better seating. HTH!

Sorry for everyone else that had a poor experience.

Have a ADR for last day of our trip, will definitely be cancelling.

Wow! I'm surprised by all the negative reviews! I've only been to WDW once, and it was a one day trip to HS a few years ago and this was the only restaurant we ate at. We were walk ups for dinner the day after Thanksgiving, and all we had was a 15 minute wait.

I thought the food was good, maybe a little pricey (but aren't all Dinsey restaurants pricey?) :)

Even though it was a few years ago and I can't remember much about it, I also don't remembere anything terrible. We have it booked as part of the Fantasmic package for our upcoming trip this year. I guess I'll have to see if it's gotten worse since I was there!
