Hollywood & Vine Breakfast or Lunch?

I feel like this character meal gets mixed reviews in general, but we ate there in 2014 for lunch and despite a lengthy wait, we had a really good experience. Our little girl loved the Disney Jr characters at the time and still talks about this meal (okay, the character interactions… eating is not as important to her as it is her Daddy and I!). So we are returning in October and feel this is a must do for us, as she is turning 6 and I know our days of Disney Jr. characters are coming to an end.

Currently I have a pre park opening breakfast at 8:15 scheduled and a 11:10 lunch scheduled, same day. Something obviously has to go. Are there really many advantages to a pre opening meal at HS? At MK I could see getting the castle pics, enjoying the walk down Main street, etc, but I guess I’m just not feeling the same excitement for Hollywood Studios. However, it might be nice to get in early and eat with the characters and then hit the park in the early morning hours (heat, crowds) as it is supposed to be a high attendance day.

Also I know Disney has been adding those pre park opening hours for an extra $ at Hollywood Studios, and have a fear if I drop my lunch ADR, then this day could become one of those days and I would either lose my breakfast or have to pay extra to get in to eat. Any thoughts on that?

On the flip side, we have several breakfasts booked and I usually like to break our meals up in terms of breakfast/lunch/dinner. Our other breakfasts are 1900 Park Faire, Akerhaus, and Tusker House. The first two are not negotiable. We really like the quality of Tusker house and ate there on our last trip but I could be persuaded to drop it.

Okay I guess what I’m trying to say does anyone have a strong preference on breakfast verses lunch at Hollywood and Vine, and if so, why?

Only real "advantage" is Jedi Training signup, if that's a thing for you. But I am guessing probably not?

EMM at HS is Mondays and Wednesdays all of August and September. They've not announced any for October yet. But they aren't a big disruptor to the park.

If I have an 8:15 breakfast on a Monday and they do extend the EMM into October, I would have to add it in order to keep my breakfast, yes?

And no, no Jedi training for our family.

No, if they add EMM you can do a PPO H&V without getting EMM tickets. EMM includes a breakfast.

PPO at another restaurant is entirely separate from EMM.
