Hollywood studios with little ones?

I have a 2 and 4 year old. Is it worth it to go to Hollywood studios with them?

I have been wondering the same thing. My youngest two children will also be 2 and 4 on our upcoming trip. None of my children do well with live shows. We've done Sesame Street Live and Nick Jr Live (their favorite characters) and they still can't attend for more than a few minutes before they are ready to walk around and leave; and my oldest two don't like thrill rides at all so Rock N Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror would be skipped anyway. The only thing we really want to do is maybe try to do the Playhouse Disney Live show (now Disney Junior Live), the Little Mermaid attraction, and the meet and greet with the Playhouse Disney and Pixar characters as my youngest two absolutely adore the Playhouse Disney shows, Toy Story, Cars, and Monsters Inc. The Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground frightens me (read too many posts about people losing sight of their kids in there) so we probably won't do that. We wonder if it will be worth it just to see one or two shows and meet a few characters? The problem for us is we are definitely not getting the park hopper option on our tickets as it is too expensive for us and logistically park hopping would be too much work for us. So if we were to go to Hollywood Studios it may certainly be a waste of a park day for us.

This thread may be moved to another forum as this is the "Orlando Hotels and Attractions" forum. My previous reply to your post was in reference to Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. Were you referring to Universal Studios (which is not a Disney park)? If so, there is a US/IOA forum on the boards. If you are referring to Universal Studios, a lot of people view that as a park that is better for older kids (maybe over the age of 7 or 8 ), because a lot of the attractions are either thrill rides or have special effects/imagery that may frighten little children. Also, many of the attractions at Universal have height requirements too. They do have a few cute things for little ones like Barney Live, Curious George play area, Fievel play area; and Islands of Adventure has Seuss Landing which is one of the best children's play areas in the world. I am not sure if there is a height requirement for the E.T. ride or Shrek 4D. I do know the Jimmy Neutron/Nickelodeon ride has a height requirement though. You will have to decide if it is worth the cost of admission at those parks to just do the few things that are appropriate for the under 5 crowd.

No, I was referring to Hollywood Studios. I was having the same thoughts as you, whether it would be worth it for two or three shows/attractions.

If you have the time and a Hopper, then maybe plan for half a day there. There are some fun things for the kids. But if you aren't Hopping, or don't have the extra time, I'd save it for another trip.

When we were there 2 years ago, my then 3yo felt a little left out at DHS.

I agree and would not go to DHS with 2 and 4 year olds unless it was just to do the couple of rides/shows there that are age appropriate. Most of their attractions are geared towards a little older children.

If you have the time and a Hopper, then maybe plan for half a day there. There are some fun things for the kids. But if you aren't Hopping, or don't have the extra time, I'd save it for another trip.
