Hollywood Studios with EMH?

We are looking at going to HS on a day that they're having EMH (morning). We won't be arriving until 3:00, and will be staying for the 9:00 Fantasmic. End of June, TP has it rated as a 6 that day. How bad will it be? Will it be as bad late in the afternoon/evening (I'm wondering if the EMH crowd will start wearing off)?

I don't know that it is a question of how bad it will be as much as how bad it will be compared to the other parks that are recommended that day (assuming you trust TPs numbers). It will definitely be busy, if the number is accurate.

Mid afternoon will be the busiest time of the day. And I wouldn't expect a lot of the EMH crowd to disappear. Only those that have PHs and are informed enough to go to a recommended park once the crowd built up in the morning. As long as you have your FPs booked you should still be able to get in a few rides and shows. But check the show times. Most of them end by late afternoon.

I don't see any point in going to a park on its EMH day if you're not going to be there during EMH.

Here's the thing. A lot of people will aim to go to a morning EMH park and then run late and they don't show up until after regular park opening. So you end up with the regular park opening time being busier than other days.

You'll have good luck if you stay until close. I find that evening touring can be very efficient on morning EMH days as a lot of the crowd will get hot and tired and leave early. Those that stay will go to the early showing of Fantasmic then immediately rush to the exits.

You best bet is to attend the 10:30 Fantasmic, as the attraction lines are their very shortest during the 9 pm show.
