Hollywood Studios to Downtown Disney

Is there a direct bus from the studios to DTD or do I have to change at one of the resorts?

The buses don't run between the parks and DTD; if they did, people would park at DTD to avoid paying to park at one of the theme parks.

Your best bet is probably to walk from the Studios to a nearby resort (Swan/Dolphin or Boardwalk) and catch a bus from there.

I find it most convenient to take a bus to Saratoga Springs and get off at the Congress Park stop, and then walk to DTD.

I agree with your suggestion since Saratoga Springs is the closest resort to Downtown Disney.

The best connection from DHS to DD is take the Pop Century bus and transfer at the resort. Generally this takes about the same amount of time as going to Saratoga Springs, but with less walking.
