Hollywood Studios Special Event????

Going to HS tomorrow morning and was double checking the times and a "special event" is listed for 7:45-9:00am. Does anyone know what this is? When I look on the Disney website, it lists Celebrity Spotlight, Meet Buzz and Woody and Mickey and Minnie in Red Carpet Dreams.

Is this going to ruin our rope drop plans? How do you get into this? Is it ticketed?

Thanks for any information- need to consider re-thinking my plans!

I believe it is the Early Morning Magic at Hollywood Studios. Yes, it is a ticketed event. No, it shouldn't ruin your rope drop plans as it is extremely limited, not at all comparable to regular extra magic hours. Thank you for the information! Too bad it is so expensive-I would have considered it, but $350+ for our family just won't work.

Does this mean the line for Buzz and Woody will be longer than usual or do they stop this meet and greet and start again for regularly ticketed guests?

It should be normal because everyone who attends the EMM will have already visited them (if they wanted to) by 9 and will have moved on to other rides/attractions. They don't stop and start again, it just continues with the regular day.

By RD most of the EMMers should have moved to their included breakfast, so there should be no impact on normal RD conditions

"Included in cost" is not the same as free. I find there is always a price to be paid when eating at the ABC Commissary.

We are shooting for rope drop so that we can sign up for the Jedi Academy. Has anyone found the special event affects what time they let guests in for the sign ups or how long the sign up line is right at 9?

From several reportts it doesn't look like EMM affects JT sign ups at all. First thing the line can be anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes

We did EMM at both MK and DHS last week and I was really surprised that it was wonderful! We rode Toy Story multiple times without getting off, and my niece was overjoyed that we were able to ride Star Tours by ourselves.

We rode Toy Story Mania and Star Tours as many times as possible prior to 9am, then we headed to breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised that breakfast was done really well. It was better than any other breakfast buffet I've been to in Disney. We were given a warm welcome, the food was hot and always neatly presented, and there was a good variety. We absolutely loved it. It felt like only 3-5 other families were eating with us. When we left breakfast, Minnie Mouse still only had a 5-10 minute wait. Toy Story broke down while we were eating, and we were told that we could use the fast pass line all day (we didn't do it though). In fact, we left DHS by 10:30 and headed to Epcot. On our MK day, Peter Pan wasn't operating until 9am. They opened the tea cups and carousel to make up for it, and we were able to ride PP until 12pm (although the FP+ line was so long we chose to only ride once).

My family would definitely take advantage of EMM again, and we're hoping that they'll do it for Epcot eventually. The quality of breakfast and being able to ride certain rides with no waits made my family feel that it was worth it. However, the hour goes by WAY TOO FAST!
