Planning a 1 day trip to Hollywood Studios, family of 4 with two little girls. I will not be doing any of the bigger rides, or the Star Wars attractions. My only concern with this itinerary is The Great Movie Ride. Does this normally have a long wait time later in the afternoon? Thoughts?
  1. Toy Story Mania at rope drop
  2. Meet Buzz Lightyear and Woody at Pixar Place
  3. FP 10:00-11:00 Voyage of the Little Mermaid
  4. Disney Jr Live on Stage
  5. Meet Disney Jr. Pals in the Animation Courtyard
  6. FP 11:00-12:00 Beauty and the Beast live on Stage
  7. Lunch
  8. FP 1:00-2:00 For the first time in Forever: A Frozen Sign-Along Celebration
  9. Meet Olaf at Echo Lake District
  10. The Great Movie Ride
  11. Mickey and Minnie staring in Red Carpet Dreams
  12. Hotel break until Fantasmic! Fireworks show

I would get a FP for Toy Story or Great Movie Ride (and then rope drop the other) instead of one of the shows.........

I would fp toy story and drop beauty fp. They're both tier 1 and can't do both, but the wait for ts would be worse than beauty.

I'm also going with two little girls and my plans are probably very similar to yours.

You wont likely need to FP Toy Story @ rope drop. Since GMR is later in the day, thats where I would use my FP.

My kids loved it (Great Movie Ride) on our last trip in June 2013. We rode it 8 times and walked right in with the exception of a 10 minute wait once or twice. I would never waste a fastpass on it and this was before all the newer Star Wars attractions.

FP for Voyage of the Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast aren't that necessary. Most shows are going to load everyone into the theaters that is waiting unless it is exceptionally busy. If you aren't picky about your seats, there is no need for FPs.

GMR can get a long line in the afternoon, though it moves in large bursts.

I would drop the fast pass for Beauty and the Beast. There is never a wait. I would rope drop Toy Story and then FP GMR. On our last trip there wasn't a line at Toy Story so while my husband and son rode Tower of Terror my daughter and I rode Toy Story several times in a role with little to no wait. We might have just gotten luck though.

Agree with all the people saying not to FP the shows. Just no need. You will spend the longest waits for Mickey, Minnie and Buzz,Woodie

I would drop the FP for Little Mermaid - you shouldn't need it - and pick up a fastpass for GMR, the wait can be unpredictable especially if you are going during a peak time.

Or, GMR is sometimes available as a 4th FP - you can try to book it as soon as you 'tap in' for your Frozen sing-a-long. The fact that you are coming back in the evening for Fantasmic opens up more possible windows for the FP. If you can't get it for the slot you penciled in, you can try to get one for when you return in the evening.

How little is little? I forgot certain elements of GMR and DD5 was dang near traumatized by the time we got off.

I echo everyone above! Especially for Voyage, a FP will just get you in the theater first where you will find yourself sitting on the far side due to them insisting everyone keep moving down!

Alternative suggestion: change the fast pass from Little Mermaid to Toy Story for 9:15ish. Then at rope drop do the Micky/Minnie Meet, Buzz Meet then use the Toy Story fast pass. You should have time to make the 10:00 Little Mermaid show.

That minimizes the time spent waiting for characters and frees up some time in the aftermoon.
