I got a notification from Touring Plans that Hollywood Studios hours had been changed from 9a-9p to 9a-1am. I looked on the Disney calendar and they have it listed as 9a-9p and then 9p-1a. No info on this being a ticketed after hours or any other reason given. Does anyone know why it was extended and if that is for all guests?

Nothing has been published for a HS After Hours Event on Feb. 2nd. AE hours are normally 9:30 PM - 12:30 AM except for March 26 & April 1st which are 10 PM - 1 AM.

I doubt it will be open to all guests.

I was wondering the same thing . Someone on the February thread mentioned awhile back that there is a dance competition and they are having a celebration at HS after hours . I think the extra hours are for them and not the general public but don’t know for sure .

The only one I know about in detail is the Celebration party - Sunday, January 19th 2025 for College Cheerleading & Dance Team National Championship. It is an after hours event ( 9 PM - 1 AM ) Private Event at HS, Sunday, January 19th 2025.

UPDATE: It looks like the UDA National Dance Team Championship 2025, Jan 31 - Feb 2. It appears to be their celebration event on Feb. 2 at 9 PM - 1 AM at HS.

ETA: I think I found the event.

I just noticed this today planning our Feb 2-8 trip.

We are DVC and there was plans to do an HS Moonlight Magic event a week before on Jan 26.

Weird thing is they have not yet opened registration for that event, which is now very late because usually done 4-8 weeks out. It’s now less than 3 weeks away.

On the DVC site they’re still listing Hollywood Studios event Jan 26th, but it also says “Please check back later for registration information. Event and registration dates are subject to change.”

The 9pm-1am hours would make sense for this. It’s usually a 3 hour event that officially begins 1 hour after park closing. It’s odd that the WDW calendar does not have those extra HS posted for Jan 26, instead it is listed a week later Feb 2nd.

Yep - it’s listed on their site

Yep, it's a park buyout. It sounds like Touring Plans got some insider information incorrect. Maybe a cast member scheduled until late, or something like that. Either way it's not available unless you're at that particular event. Buy outs happen all the time but usually they don't make it to public blogger sites.

Yea is was not only Touring Plans getting this information. It is also listed on MDE and the Disney Park hours online calendar. That's why @Steffiesunshine started the thread. Same information was available in all 3 sources. So far it appears that @gottalovepluto is right that it appears to be a Disney IT error.

That's unfortunate. It makes people have a glimmer of hope that they might have a few extra hours in the park.

This is my planned Hollywood Studios day for our trip this year. With this being the last day of the competition and the subsequent private park hours, should I consider changing our park choice?

I would anticipate the park will start to get busier in the evening if people attending the party have tickets that permit them to enter before 9PM.

If you do not have hopper tickets I would consider choosing a different park that day.

UPDATE: They changed the hours back to 9a-9p! However, today, they added a few changes to some of the parks for February 1st. AK closing change from 6pm to 8pm and MK closing from 9pm to 11pm. Possibly to reflect larger crowds expected? I know almost all the hotels are at capacity.

Correct they removed the private event hours from Feb. 2 since that was posted in error.

Yes when they add hours it is due to larger crowd projections and we are right at the 21 mark so there may be additional hours added as the February Calendar rolls.
