SEOUL/SHANGHAI – Hollywood studios are scouting out sites in Asia for new theme parks, but it will take more than Tinsel Town magic to overcome a maze of rules, local competition and spiralling land prices.
Entertainment titans Walt Disney, Universal Studios, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and Paramount Pictures are taking Western entertainment to the world's most populous region.
Their target: affluent Asians willing to spend $50, $100 or more a day.
