Hi,

We're heading to our first disney vacation with our kids this January! And we'd like to book a Fantasmic! dinner package. My wife and I were thinking about the Hollywood Brown Derby, but we don't want our kids to have to dress up (nor do we fancy the idea of dressing up)

Do you know, does the Brown Derby accommodate kids pretty well, and if so, are there any dress code restrictions (even if not official, but "implied") or would we be okay going in jeans (or if it's warm enough, shorts)?

Thanks for any info you can provide!

- Chris

There is no dress code. I ate there but without kids..I'm sure they can accomadate the kids just fine.

Have you thought about Sci Fi or 50s Prime Time if you are looking for a place that will accomadate them well? I think the kids would have fun and like the atmosphere at either or.

Yeah, we're going to be dining at both of those locations as well. I really want to try the Cobb Salad at Brown Derby, but am not keen on the idea of getting the kids and us all fancied up for a salad :) And the Fantasmic seating would be a bonus.

Thanks for your help!

We've eaten there with 2 kids (3 and 9 months) and had no problems at all. And dress code won't be an issue.

You will enjoy it there! The food was very good when we went!!! DH had the crab cake appetizer and it was very good.

We have had dinner at the Brown Derby several times over the years. It is one of our favorites. Every time we have had our children with us. No problem with the kids or what we were wearing, we had our "park" clothes.

There is no dress code at the Brown Derby, and normal park wear will be fine. The food at the Brown Derby is much better than at, say, the Si-Fi. No comparison. Enjoy the Brown Derby, and try the Cobb Salad.

As the PPs stated, park attire is fine. When we ate there in Feb., we saw plenty of kids. We had the Fantasmic package as well. Had a wonderful time and the food was outstanding! Go and enjoy yourselves!

We have taken the kids to BD quite a few times, they like it alot. We have always been lucky with wonderfull servers.

Park attire will be fine. Fantasmic itself guarantees there are always plenty of kids (of all ages) at the Brown Derby.

Oh thank you so much for asking this question!! I have ADRs for the Brown Derby (lunch paying out of pocket) or Mama Melrose (dinner paying out of pocket) and can't decide which one to cancel!! We have 4 boys (11,9,7,1) and I was concerned about the atmosphere at the Brown Derby.... I think I'll go with it though!!

Thanks!

I've taken my young niece and nephew to HBD twice in park gear--no problems. It's my nephew's favorite restaurant at DHS. The food is good, I would keep your adr. I especially like the pan seared fish with asparagus. Their cobb salad is chopped too fine and served too cold for my personal taste, but I know lots of others really like it. Enjoy!
