Okay, so last year we did Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic Package. We were happy but wanted to try something new. I didn't want to use 2 TS credits and go to Brown Derby. OMG, H and Vine was so bad. I love food so I can always find something to eat but it was gross. Sorry but it was :(

Could you elaborate on what specifically was bad? We've been toying with trying it. Thanks.

Well, there really wasn't anything specific that was bad - just bad overall. There was a great variety of foods and they did look appealing but nothing was really flavorful or had any real taste to it. I personally did not try the carved meats so maybe they were good. My DH was not pleased either and we are very easy to please as a rule. Desserts were out of this world good!! But not the meal itself.

I've heard some good & some bad reviews of H&V. We have the Fantasmic pkg there for Thanksgiving day. I hope it's good then! I assumed most of the buffets would be about the same???

We went Feb of 2008 and had a horrible experience. I'm not sure why. It was definately the worst food and service we had on the entire trip. :(

We had the character breakfast at H&V. The carpets were dirty and we had to ask them to wipe the tables and seats down, twice. The food was cold, flavorless and very limited. They had only half of the stations opened and was nearly out of everything.

We strongly advise all of our friends to avoid it. It's just not worth it.

Wen we did H and V the selection wasen't that great and the food was just mediocre. It was edible but that was about the best I can say about it. Other than the key lime tarts which were good nothing was very appealing.

We did H&V for lunch in April. It wasn't our favorite dining experience, but we didn't think it was bad. There was plenty of tasty dishes to choose from... I really liked the big sandwiches. I remember leaving full and satisfied. Our server was great too!

I think it wasn't our favorite because the characters weren't our favorite when you compare to the Princesses and Mickey and the gang. ;)

I guess some people will use H & V as an alternative to going for a more expensive dinner at the studios. We were there last May and it wasnt all that bad ...the kids had plenty of choices and we liked the beef and the pasta with seafood ....The salad selection was great and I think we had enough choices to enjoy our meal....:confused3

I ate at H & V last Thanksgiving and found the food to be very good. I was worried after reading so many negative reviews, but was happily surprised. I would eat there again for sure.

This is one place I'm afraid to try. I don't think I've seen more bad reviews about a Disney restaurant than this one.

We didn't have a negative experience at all. Our kids are a little old for those particular characters but we wanted to try a new place out. We didn't find the food horrible, just regular disney fare to be honest. I don't remember thinking any of the food was running low and there was plenty of variety.

I think it depends on the day. We have eaten at 50's many times. Once we were like "I could eat here every other day" and the following trip we were more "I think we can skip this place next trip"

This is the ONLY WDW restaurant taht we will never eat at agian. I can get the same food for half the price at Morrisions.

We are going with DD2 and DS1 - and they adore the PHD characters, otherwise we'd avoid it like the plague.

That said.. are we going to need a burger afterwards, or will we at least fill our tummies with 'average' food?

I ate here once for dinner and didn't care for it at all. I wasn't a fan of the food although there was nothing terrible. Our server sucked (which we all know can kill a meal).

However my Dad said it was one of his favourite meals, so who knows. Each to there own!

We had a 4:00 "linner" at H&V and we were on the DDxDP so I didn't think too much about booking. Thought it would be adequate. I didn't go in expecting anything special Just a buffet that would fill the need. If I had paid out of pocket for this I'd have been really miffed.

I can tell you exactly what was yucky to me. The floor was sticky, carpet was dirty, the table still had a smear of something that looked like chocolate pudding on it, there were crumbs on our seats, the server showed up three times. Once to take our drink order, once to bring our dri nks and once to bring our check. No refill on drinks though I did flag down someone else who got them for us, the carving station meat was gristly, the vegetables were soggy and over cooked, the salad was half wilted and a bit warm and tasted as if it has been poured out of a bag that had been kept a day too long.

And the bathrooms were....well let's just say not up to Disney Standards.

I think the way I can best describe it is that I had a teenaged boy with me - the kind that can eat anything and lots of it as teenaged boys are known to do - and he was also unhappy.

I think part of is that this place caters to the preschool crowd with the character meals and that's great. I love preschoolers but they are sticky and they just cant hose this place down enough.

We ate at H & V last month. We only ate there because it was all that was available for the Fantasmik pkge. The variety is MUCH smaller then the other Disney buffets I thought. I didn't think it was too good. I can't say it was horrible but not too good. I wouldn't go again.

I have been there before and did not love it. Not good. :sad2: However, we are eating there this trip because of the new Oso addition. My DS LOVES Oso and is so excited to meet him. I figured it was worth the use of a TS credit. :confused3

We ate there in March & it was good. The salads were great, good selection. We liked the entree's & veggies as well. Loved the desserts. We have eaten there before & never been disappointed. Maybe we always go at a good time. We must not be the only ones who like it because it seems to stay busy
