Our trip is over Memorial Day weekend- Wed- Wed- I like a long weekend. When we go to the Studios we usually go to Sci-Fi because it is a break from the hustle and bustle but thought my DSs 6 and 4 would like the characters at Hollywood and Vine? What does everyone think? Thanks!:cheer2:

We did the character breakfast on our trip in January and had a great time. The service was good and the food was ok, plenty of options for everyone. Character interaction was fantastic, each character came by the table twice and posed for pictures and signed the books.

We have never done the breakfast or lunch--not sure they even offered them when our kids were young (or we just didn't pay attention because we always did Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace and Minnie's Menehue--now Ohana's). We have done dinner at H&V twice and it is one of two Disney restaurants we will not go back to. The service was terrible...worse the second time, the food was lukewarm and the place was filthy. Now perhaps it is different at breakfast and lunch.

We have done the Character Breakfast and it is so much fun. A lot of dancing and music and Great Character interaction. My DS is now 6 and we have done it our last 3 trips and he wants to do it again in July. The food is good it is breakfast food, the same thing at all buffets.

We did the dinner about 2 years ago before the Playhouse Characters and I didn't enjoy it at all.

But the Character Meals have been good and fun.

Now I am mixed because my worry when I peaked my head in the last trip was that the place did not look that clean? which one confirmed but others said the food was good- Anyone been for lunch? We rarely go for breakfast at the parks as we want to get going right away- Thoughts? :confused3

We have been for both breakfast and lunch (my kids love the characters). The interaction at both meals was terrific and the kids had a wonderful time. The breakfast food was pretty decent- i mean nothing spectacular but totally acceptable. Service was good and I didn't have any problems with the cleanliness. Lunch service was good- our server was fine. Personally i thought the food was horrid and we won't be returning there. I thought the meats were low quality and everything was the sort of thing you would think of in a stereotypical cafeteria setting.

We went there last fall for lunch and the service was good. The mashed potatos and key lime tarts were really good. The other food however, was good-not great. . . . and don't expect prime rib.
My 2 1/2 yr DD at the time liked the characters and loved to dance to the music. The fact that she had such a good time, convinced us to rebook that restaurant again this year.

We did this place on our last trip and we HATED it! I actually left still hungry because I was unwilling to put any more of that stuff in my mouth. It was a fight to get to the food because there were 2 buffet lines that ended in the middle but people proceeded to keep going and it was just a huge mess. The food was just bad. Even dessert wasn't good... it was in big vats and looked so mangled. Just stressful and bad.

What is the other place you won't go back to?

This was my experience for dinner during Sept 2006. Not sure when you last went but I will not be going back based on my last trip's experience.

We ate there last Saturday, and while the food probably was not as good as Brown Derby, it was the best choice for our party of 10 while still getting the Fantasmic tickets.

We will not go back to Boatwright's for dinner. We will probably try breakfast, but the dinner was by far the worse meal/service we have ever encountered anywhere.

We were there in June of 2004 and Septbember 2006. Never again.
