Hollywood and Vine buffet

Been there 3xs but not because the food is that great (although there is a nice variety) we feel its worth it for the reseved seating @Fantasmic...looking forward to trying Mama Melrose in September with Fantasmic package! :)

We have always done the dinner package at H&V...It's the one meal that my kids (DS15 and DD13) insist upon! It's buffet, not gourmet...but we happen to think it's very good! :goodvibes

Bad, and more bad in my opinion. We'll never go back. We only went because it was the only restaurant available for the fantasmic package.

The worst food we ever had, anywhere. The service was non existant and the tables were not being cleared off so there was dirty dishes and tables all over the place.

Alan Renfroe just did a review on it and he said it was just plain terrible!

Wow~

It's really surprising to see so many different reviews on Hollywood and Vine. We had reserved there about three months ago for an early evening dinner/Fantasmic package. I'm not going to lie...After reading all the reviews...I was nervous about it.

We actually went this past Friday. It was my husband and myself...as well as our daughter, son in law and two grandsons ages 6 and 8.

We are a *restaurant* family. Our son is an Executive Chef...and we owned a very successful steak and seafood restaurant in a resort area for many years. We thought the food was really good! :goodvibes

The restaurant was clean, the service was great, and the buffet line itself was always fresh and tidy. There were several nice salad choices, quite a few side dishes...including a corn pudding that was really good...and the meats were a Mediteranian chicken dish that was excellent...and Roast Pork as well as Prime Rib with horseradish sauce. One side of the buffet line the Prime Rib was pretty well done but the other side was rare to medium rare which is how we prefer it.

I'm not sure that we'd pay the price we paid for it outside of a Disney park...but we thought it wasn't a bad deal at all considering where it is and that we got the preferred seating for Fantasmic. :wizard:

PLUS...the cool airconditioning for the hour and a half or so that we were there was a welcome relief!

I'm wondering with all the different reviews on this restaurant if it makes a difference what time you go...:confused3

For our family....we enjoyed it.

I've eaten here twice and really enjoyed it. We'll be going again on our Dec trip with the Fantasmic package. Can't wait!

It is ok. If it was not on Fantasmic we would not go back. Been there done that kind of place for us, not a must dine at place for us. I typically do the salads there and dessert. We have been to Mama Melrose and had a bad experience there as well as a lot of friends have too.

we ate there once as part of the fantasmic package and everyone found something they liked. it was good for buffet food in my opinion. and I felt like we got our monies worth, even with two children at a buffet, which can sometimes be difficult

This review is very similar to our experience the last week of May...we thought the food was quite good for a buffett. We'd go again in the future
