when do the holiday decorations and events usually start at DL and DCA??? Also do you think it will be affected because of the avengers half marathon weekend??? Also second question. What are some of your favorite holiday happenings around the DL resort??? Any "hidden gems"? Any others tips or tricks to being at DL in the middle of november?

I don't think anyone knows quite how the marathon is going to affect the holiday happenings at DLR yet. I'd hop over to the Christmas Time Super Thread...that's where all of the latest info will be posted and it's also a great place to talk about everyone's favorite Holiday happenings at DLR.

I've been before the first weekend of November & they were filming parts of the Christmas Day parade, so the park was already pretty decked out for the holidays. The shows & Santa weren't there yet, but Santa comes the weekend before thanksgiving, usually. Like was already said, who knows how the marathon will affect the parks, but runners don't get park admission or a discount, so anyone entering, has to pay.

Avengers Marathon: think thousands of people coming to run. Do you think they'll stick around for a DL trip or just turn and go home? I would bet heavily that the crowds will see a big uptick both before and after the event.
