Has anyone done this recently? Did you see many Christmas lights? What time would be the best to do this? Would like to get this booked soon. Looking at 3 adults, a teen and a toddler. Would there be enough room to ride comfortably?

Thanks for the help.

We did this a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Saw lots of fun light displays.

I'll be watching this thread with interest. :) I booked one of these for my husband and I, along with dinner at Trail's End, and I'm really excited to try it.

This is on my to-do list as well, so I'm also interested in hearing what other have to say.

We are going to be staying at the Fort first week of December and I was thinking about booking this but have decided against it. I don't understand why the sleigh ride is 79 bucks while the carriage ride is 45 for the same amount of time and holds the same number of people. I see that you get a special pin with the sleigh ride but is a pin really worth 34 bucks? If anyone knows what the difference between the two is, I would love to hear it!

Ohhh... a pin? Really? I hope so!

I wondered the same thing, but the pictures of the sleigh looked so pretty, and I'm such a sucker for Christmas themed stuff that I went ahead and booked it anyway. Which is a big part of why I'm not getting that Merry and Bright Dessert Party (yes, I pretty much blew the budget on a holiday sleigh ride!).

Not sure what the difference is, but what we did was the "sleigh" ride in 2012. It was a very pleasant experience with just the 3 of us chatting with the driver all the way through. Well worth the $60 price at the time.

We have done this a couple of times when we stayed at the cabins in fort wilderness and really enjoyed it. It is pricey, but is one of our favorite things to do if we go during the holidays. We also had 5 people (2 adults and three kids) and fit comfortably. I think if you sit the toddler in the middle of two adults and have one adult and the teen on the other seat you will be comfortable. It is fun to see the various light displays. Some are very elaborate. As an FYI, the "sleigh" drivers do not accept tips. We mistakenly tried and were kindly told they do not accept them.

We did the sleigh ride right after Hoop Dee Doo last year and it was fun. i'm glad we did it but I doubt I would do it again. For me, kind of a "one and done" kind of thing... It was cool to see all the campsites decorated. Some were very elaborate! My son collects pins so that was the highlight. It's a nice big one.

I have this booked for Christmas night and am very excited to check it out! Do they provide a blanket (or two)? Also - can I bring hot cocoa/coffee if it is cold? Anything else I should know? Thanks!!

Yes they provide a blanket that will cover everyone in the carriage. I don't see why you couldn't bring a nice hot beverage if you wanted to.

when do they start? do people decorate their sites in early november (jersey week)? We will be there for HDDR and wondering if it is worth it to look around.

just looked into this and it says 2 adults and 3 small children - I guess our family of 6 is out :-/
