I have been looking today for Holiday Insurance and wondered if anyone can help?
they all seem to have an upper limit of £5000.00 for cancellation. Our holiday cost more than that and to be honest am checking any policies with care as we had to cancel a holiday last year due to me being in hospital and insurance did not pay out as it was an illness that was not covered. I believed that because I was acually an in-patient I would be covered no mater what
silly me and we lost £600.00, luckily we cancelled before 12 weeks so were able to get the rest of our money back direct from the Travel Agent.
I know that again I will not be covered for this condition, that is fine if I was not able to travel we would get somone else to go in my place or the others would go without me rather than have to cancel again. BUT THAT WILL NOT HAPPEND LOL
I have phoned a few Insurance companies and they have said £5000.00 is per claim, ok worse case sinario (spelt wrong I know ) is a family death and we had to cancel whole holiday at last minute. this means we would lose out. Seems so wrong when a lot of holidays cost more than £5k
