I just got the Holiday Inn Select Orlando on priceline and was wondering if anyone has stayed here? We are flying the night before our cruise and I didn't want to drive to Cocoa Beach after a long day. I was hoping someone has stayed here before and could tell me alittle bit about the hotel. Was it clean, friendly staff, easy check-in check-out etc? Thanks.

Tink, can I ask what Star rating you selected and what was the bid? I'm trying Priceline for our pre cruise hotel stay.

In the MCO area, do not go below a 3* hotel. The reason for this is that there are 2 LaQuinta motels in that area. One is fine, but the other is a real dump. You don't want to risk getting the nasty one. Also, all the 3* hotels have free shuttle service to and from the airport. The cost of taking a shuttle to a cheaper motel will easily use up your savings...although the 2.5 stars generally have free breakfast (some of dubious quality).

Generally, MCO 3* is somewhere in the range of $31-39. For a lot of info on Priceline bidding, go to www.biddingfortravel.com

I got the Holiday Inn Select on Priceline a few weeks ago - with a 3 star rating. The website looks nice and the reviews on bidding for travel sounded OK. I am not sailing until September so can't give a definite answer until we return.

I bid for $39.00 for a three star hotel. I have been bidding between $34-37 for awhile and hadn't gotten anywhere. I decided not to go over $40.00. I know others have probably gotten it a few dollars cheaper but I'm still happy with what I got. I was just hoping someone has stayed here before to give alittle insight. Being a 3 star hotel I'm sure it's pretty nice but it's nice to actually here it from someone who has actually stayed there.

Hi Tink,
When are you staying. I'll be there in April so if it's past then, I can give the the low down.

We stayed there in January of this year. I also got it on priceline. The staff was very nice and when I called and asked for a non-smoking room, they said just to ask when we checked in. There were still dishes from room service in the hall when we got there--about 4 p.m. We had 2 regular size beds and they weren't real comfortable. The pool and hot tub were great, though. The room was clean. There was a buffet for breakfast. (Not free with the room, though.) A lot of pilots and stewards and stewardess were staying there when we were there. It was worth the money for the night before the cruise for us.

Hi again. We won't be going until December so you'll have plenty of time to give me the details when you return. (i'm kinda of a fanatic about planning early) Thanks for the help.

I posted this questions last week and no one replied. Its good to know that the Holiday Inn Select is okay. I also bid $40.00 on Priceline and got the Holiday Inn Select.

I really wanted the Hyatt MCO and I have been watching Hotwire everyday to see if the Hyatt would so up.

I am going to bid on Hotwire if the right "icons" show up for the Hyatt. $40.00 for Holiday Inn Select and $40 for Hotwire. $40.00 lost on my account. I waste that much on "Chai Tea Latte" in a month so I juess no "Chai Tea Latte" for a month :p

We got the Holiday Inn Select via Priceline a while back, and it was fine. Room was clean, they honored my request for non-smoking, and it was nice and quiet. Their shuttle from the airport was prompt, too, and they are centrally located so you can walk to a restaurant if you want.
It seems that the Holiday Inn Select comes up at the higher end of the bid price range. When I bid $28 to $33, I come up with the Marriott, or occasionally the Renaissance. But one time there must have been something going on in the area, as my bid kept being rejected (I start trying long enough before our cruises to make multiple bids, and I also have multiple Priceline IDs). Finally a notice came up that said if I bid a certain amount (I think it was around $38), I would get a room. That isn't common, although I've had it happen a couple of times with rental cars too. I put in the amount and got the Holiday Inn Select...that was the only time.
