I am thinking of staying there for half our trip, is it an okay hotel? How are the Kidsuites? Is $88 incl tax a good deal (June)?

I think you can get it cheaper through Dreams Unlimited:

We stayed there in March. It is nothing like the other Holiday Inn near Disney World:

We probably won't stay at the Mian Gate one again, it just wasn't the right place for us. It was clean enough and nothing really wrong. It just wasn't what we were expecting. We thought it would be like the other one (second link). Now that one is NICE! Great pool! Free breakfast (a nice one too). Seperate bedrooms for kids and parents (at the Main Gate one, the kids had an open 'fort' area to sleep in, but it was still right in your room. The other one also has a living room and kitchenette.

I would recommend the second Holiday, but not the Main Gate one, but again, just our preferences.

but I had no problems. I was even able to get a DIS rate for around $41 a night (at the time). I'm sure there are still some DIScounts. :D They really didn't pay attention to how many people were in the room, since it was such a big hotel. They have round the clock security, lots of pools and laundry, and some shuttles that run a few times a day to all the Disney parks. It's really easy to get to WDW, about a 3 minute drive onto the highway I4. Getting back was a little more congested, but I'm sure they have finished the construction by now, so hopefully someone can fill you in. There is an IHOP very close by (walking distance if I remember correctly with a breakfast buffet), as well as a Shoney's (buffet style meals very reasonably priced), both within 1 or 2 blocks from the hotel on the same road on the way to DISNEY.(I192 I believe). The only reason I stooped staying was because for me traveling alone, it was cheaper to stay on site with my AP discount, instead of renting a car and staying offsite. It is also more convenient not to drive if I'm by myself. Of course I can't get any inexpensive meals unless I get a ride offsite to Denny's or one of the other restaurants I mentioned (all about 5 to 10 mintues from WDW). I hope this helps!

That's true. It was very easy to get to the parks from the hotel and lots of places to eat.

Like I said, it wasn't bad. We had just moved from Beach Club Villas to this place on a Friday, and it was a hard transition.

We visited there with friends who stayed there recently. The room layout is standard 2 double-bed and clean.
The price of $88 seems high to me for June. I believe you can get a much lower rate if you look around.

The complex is located on route 192 in Old Town Kissimmee close to any number of restaurants and is about 3 miles east of the Main Gate entrance to WDW. There is no road construction now on route 192 between the motel and WDW.

It is certainly not the quality of a Disney resort, like Beach Club Villas. But, it would be a place to stay that is not bad. The Comfort Suites next door to the Holiday Inn is nicer and I would compare rates.

Thanks for all the help. I think we will check out the HIFS. The whole point of moving off site (we are at the All Stars for 6 nights) is to get some space and a good nights sleep. Boy do I wish I could spend an extra $1000 and rent some DV points.

Hi! If you end up wanting to book at HIFS try using a discount. It saved us a lot. We are going next Oct and was able to book a room @ $60.00 using our Entertainment card and my HI membership #.

Good Luck!
