Holiday inn express or Home2 Suites?

which would you choose? Main concerns are walking distance, parking at the hotel (are either valet only?) we will be doing some day trips outside of anaheim and would prefer not to have to wait for valet, and noise level.

we will be spending 7 nights in the hotel and then hopefully staying at the Disneyland hotel for our last three nights. To offset the cost I am looking for the most affordable offsite hotel for basically only sleeping but I do need space as we are a family of 6 squeezing into one room.

any other options/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you're thinking about Holiday Inn Express on Manchester Ave, then that one is marginally closer than the Home2, but I believe both are still about a 10 minute walk to security. I know Home2 is valet only, but not sure about the Holiday Inn, so you'd probably be best checking their website. Both are near the I-5, so there may be some noise due to that.

I was more worried about thin walls type of noise. Wondering if anyone had experience from staying there.

We stayed at the HIE a few years back and do not recall significant noise from others around us (or the freeway for that matter, though both hotels are right next to the freeway). At that time HIE parking was valet only due to the small size of the lot so they could pack the cars in. I'm assuming it's the same now but don't know for sure. Overall we thought the HIE was fine and would stay there again. That said, I've stayed at Home2Suites in other areas and really like them so if the new one by DLR is like those I would pick that over the HIE. The room we had at HIE was spacious and I think had a mini fridge but the Home2 will have an actual mini kitchen that might be nice since your stay is so long.

As far as walking distance, the difference should be negligible since they are right next to each other (with the HIE getting a slight edge, I guess).

We have recently stayed at the Home2Suites and the Garden Inn. They are both Hilton properties in the same building. At Home2Suites, we had rooms on the opposite side of the freeway and never noticed any noise. At the Garden Inn, we were on the fifth floor and could barely make out the freeway. It didn’t really bother us at all.

We really loved both properties and their proximity to the parks. I believe we found the walk to be around 8 minutes to security depending on the light. Our family walks at a pretty good pace though.
