This is our first attempt at putting a post on here so please excuse our mistakes.
We have just booked our 4th Florida holiday with virgin again!!
Flying the 29th May 2004 staying at the rosen plaza intl' drive.
Has anyone stayed there as any comments would be appreciated.
What's the weather like and how much rain can we expect as we have never been out there at this time of year before.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Just before we go thanks for interesting trip reports that we have read and all the advice that we read of the boards when we first went in 1998.

Welcome to the Dis

Can't help with that time of year - we usually go in October. Glad you enjoy reading the trip reposrts. We have a lot of Dis'ers goin this May so hopefully we will have some lovely new reports soon :D

Welcome to the Disboards.

Have you signd up as a Frequent Virgin? If not do it as soon as possible as you get some special discounts, upgrades etc.

Anyway enjoy your planning and any questions you are ask are likely to be answered if anyone knows the answer!!

As for rain you should miss the start of the rainy season by my estimates and the crowds will be lighter than later on in the summer.

Hope to hear from you on the boards again soon.

Claire ;)

Hi eeyoreangel1 and welcome to the DIS!

We haven't stayed at the Rosen Plaza, but we have stayed on I-Drive and you are at the nicer end, IMHO and right opposite Pointe Orlando (shopping and entertainment venue). As a repeat visitor, you probably know all that anyway! Where have you stayed before?

Statistically, you have picked a good time for weather and crowds, but in my experience, the weather in Orlando can be as unpredictable as it is here. It should be fairly hot (in the 90s). Storms will be on the increase, but you may well get lucky - they tend to be pretty localised, so you might miss them altogether. You should just miss the start of the main summer season as far as US school holidays go.

welcome to the boards.

sorry haven't staye d in a hotel in orlando so i can't help you with your query.

last time we went it was end of may, beg june. The weather was great lots of sun & just a couple of thunderstorms.

We'd def go again at this time of year. We're going in August cos eldest DS has exams in JUne.

we have previously stayed at the
-Rodeway inn - 1998
-Quality inn Plaza-2000
-Quality inn international-2002
thanks for the replies from everyone that answered
PS We are frequent virgins.

Hi, we have stayed at the Rosen Centre before.

It is a brilliant hotel, the best we have stayed at in Orlando.
These days we have to stay in a villa because our son is Autistic and we need the extra room and cooking facilities etc but the Rosen is a great choice, one of the biggest and most striking in Orlando.

It is situated at the quieter end of I-drive, away from all the other hotels etc
Plus points are:
1. Great pool area.
2. Brilliant hotel entrance with marble floors - really posh looking!
3. 2 good restaurants, the breakfasts are brilliant
4. 24 hour deli for snacks etc
5. Large rooms
6. Excellent service, friendly staff
7. 2 bars for that well earned drink in the evening!

Just a couple of things to note, the Hotel is very much a business type of residence hence the quality of service, excellent surroundings etc . when we stayed there we got the impression we were the only Brits in the place, quite like the idea of that though!
Also I doubt if you will be able to park at the front, it is always full, you will probably be advised to park in a multi storey car park at the side - it is the hotels car park though.

Welcome:D

:D May is a great time to go. We've been twice in May (departures were on the 16th and 31st May) and once early mid-June and the weather each time was great. Hot and quite humid, the worst storms were in our June trip, but they were over within an hour max and actually helped clear the atmosphere.

The crowds aren't too bad (very slightly up on last October when we went - and they were great:D ).

One of our friends stayed in the Rosen Plaza last year and it suited them fine. They did feel it was quite a convention hotel, like the Rosen Centre, but service and rooms were very good.

You'll have a great time:Pinkbounc
