Holiday decorations

I am looking to replace pretty much ALL my holiday decorations. My garlands and swags are all just old and worn. The other stuff was all just sort of mismatched collections.

Last fall we did a big renovation project and replaced all the woodwork in the house. We didn't do much decorations last year as everything was just completed.

I don't want to break the bank or take money out of gift budget so where would be the best places to find holiday decor on the cheap yet still look good quality?

If you could put off new decorations another year, I would pick up most of this at the after Christmas sales. If not, I would buy the basics (lights, tree) at Lowes. They always seem to mark down the holiday stuff a couple weeks before Christmas. As for quality - it is a crap shoot. Try to look for items made in the USA.

This. We have a local Christmas store that has good quality. I like Costco stuff and their stuff is usually fairly decent on price before Christmas anyway. You can check local hobby places and big box stores but the quality can be hit or miss.

I was at Hobby Lobby today (in MD) and they had "Christmas Decor 50% off" signs up everywhere. Of course, that probably means their prices are artificially high, but if there's one near you, you might check them out. Their Christmas section is always huge, with about every theme imaginable.
