We're going to be at WDW Dec. 4-11. The night we're going to MVMCP, we're planning on driving around and looking at various resorts for their Christmas decorations. Should we drive our rental car to do this? I'm assuming that we can just tell the security guards what we're doing and they'll let us since we're staying on property (Caribbbean Beach). I'm just not sure if the Disney buses go between resorts or just from the resorts to the parks.

I will be doing this too and plan on driving around to the moderates and values. You can take Disney transport to the nearest park and then another bus/boat/monorail to the resort, but kind of a pain unless the resorts you want are all together.

For MK resorts, take bus to MK, walk to Contemporary, monorail to Poly and GF. Then you can take a boat to WL and Ft. Wilderness from MK too. You can visit BW, BC and YC in one place as well if you can get to the Boardwalk. It's not too bad driving around.

Just tell security that you are visiting and shopping.

i always drive around to different resorts when i'm there...
the guards never have a problem with it...

I would recommend driving. When we do this and are staying on property we just show the security guard our parking pass from which ever resort we are staying at and they usually just wave us in.

Drive it. It's easier.. and faster. If you want to visit the MK resorts, just take the bus to MK and then hop on the monorail or boat to GF or Poly or CR. Then afterwards... just head back to MK and boat it to WL..

Since you're staying at a Disney resort, you should have no problem traveling to various resorts in your rental car. It would probably be best to use car vs. Disney transportation in order to save time. Disney busses typically do not go from resort to resort. Make sure you stop by WL - they really do a good job decorating for Christmas!

Definitely drive and definitely check out Wilderness Logde and The Grand Floridian if you can. They are my favorites when it comes to Christmas decorations!
