Has anyone used the Holiday codes yet? If so, what prices did you get?

I am still torn between room only (which we have booked) and the Discovery Magic pkg.

Thanks!

I got Coronado Springs for $85 12/20 - 12/23 and a friend of mine is staying at ASMU for $55 12/18 -12/24.

We got Fort Wilderness cabins from 12-23 to 12-30 for $139. I'm not sure if that was a code or an annual pass rate. I thought it was a code, but on my ressies, it mentions AP. Either way, I'm excited to be staying there. There are 6 of us and FW was cheaper than 2 rooms at All Stars.

We then move to the Dolphin for 4 nights on the $129 government rate.

This trip is costing less than our first one 4 years ago and we are staying in more expensive lodging (not necessarily better, we love ASMo) and for twice as long. If not for having found the DIS boards, there is no way we could afford to go as often as we do.

Thanks so much to all of you for the invaluable information.

Wow, those are good deals! We are at POR for 3 nights is 330 for a king bed room.

So tough to decide about the pkg, which is 1127 at POR or 1350 at AKL Savanah view. (Discovery Magic, 2 adults, 3 nights)

I'll keep worrying til we get there if I made the right choice. Thanks for shring the rates you guys got!

I haven't stayed at POR, but we have stayed at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and AKL, and if I were you and decided for a package, I would definately go for the AKL Savannah view for less than two hundred dollars more. It would definately be worth it to me.

Minnie's Mate-
Thanks for the advice. I just called with the new holiday code and got the following Discovery Magic pkg prices for 2 adults for 3 nights

POR (std) 1127
WL (ctyd) 1305
AKL (std) 1257
AKL (sav) 1373
Poly (garden) 1438
Poly (lagoon) 1571
Contemporary (std) 1438
Contemporary (tower) 1604

I picked the WL ctyd view bc MK is my favorite park, and I heard WL is gorgeous for Christmas. Also, my DH is always saying how his favorite vacation would be to go hiking/camping in all those states like CO, Montanna, etc. I thought he would like the theme, and when we were talking about which resorts we liked, he seemed keen on the geyser (where is it?) at WL.

I have never stayed at AKL, but have heard great things about decor. I was slightly worried about long transportation times since this will be a rather short trip for us. So, I booked dinner at Jiko's to compensate.

Is this a good plan? Or is the savanah view REALLY that much better? Also, if anyone knows, what does AKL do for Christmas decorations?

I am keeping it a secret from DH where we are staying (he thinks POR since I have some info about them lying on my desk at home), but oh boy! I can't wait.

We are both grad students at same school, and this is our "thank God finals are over and we are still married" trip, and part of our goal to take as many honeymoons as we can in the first year we are married!

Thanks so much for sharing the rates you all got, it encouraged me to try the package!

We have stayed at AKL at Christmas also. The decorations are really beautiful. They are very understated with earth tones. There are Christmas trees everywhere in the main lobby. The focal tree is about 25 or 30 feet tall and sits on a large platform covered in an African print.

I have heard wonderfull things about the beautiful decorations at WL and we are planning to go to the Wilderness Lodge to see the decorations while we are at WDW this year. I visited the WL in September while in Orlando on business...oh if I could only have more business in Orlando! I thought the decor was probably pretty much equal in theming to the AKL.

AKL is our favorite Disney property and we will stay there again next Spring. Either way, I don't think you will be disappointed. They are both great resorts.

Thanks again, Minnie Mate. I think it will take alot for me to be dispaoointed with Disney. I am a new (addict), so still have those rose-colored-mickey shaped glasses to see everything through! :)

Dh caught me looking at pics of WL at Christmas on-line last night. So the secret didn't last very long :( BUt, now he's almost as excited as I am! Yeah!

45 impossibly long days til the Christmas magic!

We are staying at the YC, standard view from 12/24-12/27 with "embrace the magic package" code BBL, for around $1400.00 for four adults. Can I do better? Thanks!
