Just booked for 11/28 - Thanksgiving themed beverages. Sounds like fun.

Anyone else going? Holiday series begins 11/7 and goes through 12/19.

I think I may have gotten some pixie dust and captured a cancellation. MS said it sold out very quickly when first announced, which I apparently missed.

We are only going overnight on the 23rd. Connecting to a cruise. We may go up to TOTW after our 5:30 dinner on Thanksgiving. Wish I could be there for the tasting!

I am a little disappointed that neither the wine nor mixology tastings are scheduled during our vacation for 11/30 - 12/13. Beer and bourbon don't interest us. In case anyone wants more details - https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2017/10/top-of-the-world-lounge-broadens-tasting-series/

So the Holiday series on Tuesdays didn't appeal to you? Before they announced those, I also was disappointed that a beer tasting was scheduled for the dates we would be there - I'm not much of a beer drinker. Noticed the Holiday additions just a few days ago and decided the Thanksgiving-themed beverage session might be fun. If the chocolate or coffee-inspired session had worked, I would have signed up for one or both of those in a flash, LOL. (Maybe those are all sold out now, I don't know).

Holiday Tasting Schedule

  • Tuesday, November 7, 2017: Cider-inspired holiday beverages
  • Tuesday, November 14, 2017: Thanksgiving-themed beverages
  • Tuesday, November 28, 2017: Thanksgiving-themed beverages
  • Tuesday, December 5, 2017: Chocolate-inspired holiday beverages
  • Tuesday, December 12, 2017: Holiday-themed beverages
  • Tuesday, December 19, 2017: Coffee-inspired beverages

Hi all! We just booked this for December 7th, Bourbon night. I had just stumbled across this, while looking for something on the DVC site. We are very excited about this evening, but have a few questions. I am not sure if this is brand new, or been offered before. I booked this because my husband likes bourbon, and thought it would be interesting. I don’t drink bourbon at all, don’t even like the smell of it, lol. I’m wondering if I can have wine instead? Of course I know I can PAY for wine, but curious if I can substitute it, within the $40 price tag? Also, it says small plate tastings are offered.... does anyone know what type of food, or how much? We decided to cancel our TS dinner ADR for that evening, because we thought it might just be too much food and drink. Any thoughts??

We went to one of the first ones. Unless something has changed, the food is just a small sample size. It is not a meal and you will be hungry. I don’t know about whether they will substitute drinks, I would just call and ask.

I would say no, they are not open for "business" till the class is over. Maybe you could find a friend to join your husband. When I went, the food was not enough for a meal, only tastings to pair with the bourbons.

I did not realize the bar would not be open. It’s just the two of us this trip. That’s fine. I’m sure it will be a nice experience for us. I’m sure I can get water... albeit an expensive glass of it, lol. Thank you for your answers!

I missed this option. I'll have to talk to DH. He really prefers wine though.

Edit: I just looked at the link again. It says Hot Holiday beverage for 12/12. DH doesn't drink hot drinks. It looks like we won't be doing this tasting.

just thought I would mention that when I mad the reservation for the Beverage Event, I was told the dress code for this event is the same as a Signature Dining, and to dress up. I actually thought that was a nice touch. Can anyone speak to their experience on this?

When we went, no one was really dressed up. Most of the guys had on nice shorts and collared shirts. The women wore skirts or nice pants outfits, but nothing fancy. It was the same as you might see eating at say Jiko.

My husband and I are signed up for the Thanksgiving themes drink series on 11/28 and the beer one 11/30. Hoping we enjoy the drinks. If not it’s an hour of adult conversation and no teen bickering!! Husbands birthday is 11/29 so we are splurging!

We'll be there on 11/28, too. See you in two weeks!
