HoJo Standard room

Hi,
I just booked the HoJo for 59.00 a nite, but its a standard room. How are they? I know a lot of people like the resort but how are the standard rooms?

They are great, those are the ones we usually go with. We usually stay in the pavilion rooms w/2 doubles. You could be in Bldg 2 or in the pavilions, either way you'll have a decent room.

Actually, building 2 rooms are now considered "deluxe" level (inbetween standard and premium), and the rate is $10 more using the ent. rate.

I've never stayed in the pavillion rooms, and probably won't because I like having a microwave and the upgraded queen bedding they have in building 2 now. But I know many people who enjoy the double/double pavillion rooms and are quite happy to get them at the $59 rate.

and was happy to be given a choice of where we'll be. Last time I found the standard room to be fine for my family of 3. It was quiet, the fridge and the coffee pot were perks you usually don't get at that price, and it was clean!

Amazingly, I'm paying less this trip than I did when we went 4 years ago!

One nice thing, I already know which building I'm in, which floor, and which side! That's a perk you don't get at WDW!!!

Mind you, I'm not fussy. If the room is clean, quiet, and comfortable, I'm good!

The standard room buildings are 2 story buildings and no elevator. So if you have a stroller or other difficulty with stairs, make sure you call and request a first floor room.
From what I have read, those who have stayed in the rooms are very happy with them and report they would choose the room location again. I think the courtyards outside the rooms look very nice and I would choose these rooms if they had a microwave.

I booked one for my trip last week. We were going to be in building 4, second floor (because I like the skylight windows), 2 doubles, courtyard view. When we got there, though, they had upgraded us to a Disney view room on the 6th floor because it was my birthday. I never got a chance to see what the standard rooms with skylights look like, but I did find out that the upper level rooms in building 1 have a lot of traffic noise. Well, to me, at least. I live in the boonies with nothing much around me so I'm not used to it.

I didn't find a need for the mw or fridge this trip because it was a quick weekend getaway for 2 adults. I will say that the bedding was sooooooooo comfortable!! But I think you'll love the $59 room unless it's on the freeway side of building 1. Those pavilion building are supposed to be very quiet.

How much is the Premium? I'm still trying to decide which hotel to stay in. I'm still unsure. =\ I'm thinking a Premium wouldn't be too bad.

However, I want the premium bedding, so we went with the premium room. They are slowly adding the bedding to all the rooms, but the only way to guarantee it was to get a premium room.

"Sorry to hijack, but I am going to anway! So are the standard rooms the only rooms that may back up to the highway? And is it just a microwave, frig and upgraded bedding you are giving up by getting a standard vs. a premium? Trying to decide between the two rooms myself for our one night in October.

Some of the standard rooms would be located on the freeway side of building 1. Those would have 2 queens (not sure if they are new beds), but no micro. I believe a majority of the standard rooms are the NDD1 rooms which are located in the pavillion buildings (3-6). Those have 2 oversized doubles (not new beds) and no micro.

ALL rooms at the HoJo have a fridge, even the standard.

Thanks so much! I haven't stayed at the Hojo in about three years and when I did, I just took what they had! So what's a pavillion building?

I really don't care, I can sleep through anything and we had a freeway sided room once and it wasn't too bad. I just hope they release the Ent rate for my dates, I'm booked at BWPPI right now but I'd rather save some money if I can!

Premium bedding includes new Heavenly beds, triple sheeted with super soft sheets (sorry, can't remember the thread count), and a big soft fluffy down comforter to top it off.

I can tell you from first hand experience that it's VERY comfortable!

Yes, it's about a 10 minute walk, so not bad at all.

If you want a bit of a shortcut then do this: once you exit the parks, rather than follow all the other walkers to the main crosswalk, veer to your left towards the taxi pickup/drop off location, then walk on the Disney side of Harbor and cross Habor at the Manchester crosswalk. (Manchester is a side street that is on the south side of the HOJO property.) This will save you a few minutes walking time.

Now that I see what premium bedding is all about, it sounds worth ten bucks to me! I hope I get an ent rate!

Yes it is definitely within walking distance. HoJo is our hotel of choice. But the Ent Rates are not available the dates of your stay. At least not at this time, you can check availability on their discussion boards, you can find them at hojoanaheim.com.

They are very quiet! We had a second floor room in one last July and we loved it! We were going to stay there this weekend but we were able to book our timeshare so we did that instead.

I can tell you from first hand experience that it's VERY comfortable!

The comforters are wonderful! They are not made of down/feathers however, so they would be fine for someone with an allergy to feathers/down like myself. I always need to check into that when staying at a hotel.
