Is this a quiet room or does it have freeway noise? I just booked for July, AAA rate of $137 and $125 different nights. Now I'm wondering if I should have booked a premium. We just want as little noise as possible and the shortest walk. Is that asking too much? :rotfl2:

...we stayed in the premium rooms disney view on our last trip and I could certainly hear the freeway...I wore earplugs.

On Lorealle form the Hojo's advice I have booked into the deluxe rooms in building two this time...they are supposed to be quieter...I will know in couple of weeks I guess.

....building two I believe is the longest walk so you may have to choose between no freeway and shorter walk. I figure that for all the walking we will be doing over the week a minute or two the other way is insignificant.

Just got back from our stay at Hojos and we had a deluxe room in building 2 facing the garden pool. I could hear the freeway a bit, but I didn't think it was bad at all. We stayed in building 1 in a Kids Suite a few months ago and it was REALLY loud!! I would guess that a premium view room would be slightly better, but in all honesty the entire property is situated very close to the freeway, so I don't know if you can shut out the freeway noise completely. I didn't find the freeway noise in the building 2 room (facing pool) to be an issue at all.

As far as the walk, it was a bit farther from building 2, but we cut across the parking lot to the corner and it wasn't too bad.

I would definitely stay at HOJO again!!!

You're right, I'll take quiet over an extra 2 minute walk any day. And, actually, I deaf in one ear, which comes in quite handy for sleeping through snoring, freeway noise, etc. My son however could hear a pin drop while he's sleeping. He'll be up all night with too much noise in the room.

He woke up last night because "the wind was blowing too hard". Seriously light sleeper, my boy.

When we stayed there a couple of year ago I had no problems with the noise. Those that were in our party that did have a slight issue with the noise all live on farms. So for them any noise is going to be heard. they said that while they heard it, it wasn't too bad. they just needed to get used to it.

I agree with a PP, just cut through the parking lot. It is quicker and the walk isn't that bad.

Have you tried using one of those white-noise generators such as one that makes the sound of rain? We have one in our room, and it masks the sound of wind nicely. We got it for the baby and ended up keeping one in our room too because wind also bothers me. It really hides a lot of noise, and we always travel with it.

I was louder in building 1? That's where the premium rooms are right? So, more expensive and noisier?

Honestly, I'm torn between the HOJO and PVI. It would be our first stay at either one. How is the noise level at PVI, I wonder?

I have become addicted to a white noise machine over the years and really does help with ambient noise. We stayed in the Villas last year and you would hear the sounds of the park and WOC but the machine helped this old, exhausted body.

That's right. We've never booked the Premium rooms for that reason, so I can't attest to their noise. We always book Deluxe, overlooking the quiet pool. Nice and peaceful, even sitting out on the balcony overlooking the pool. We've never been bothered by noise in building 2. I highly recommend it.

Yes, building 1 was WAY louder! Granted, we were in a Kids Suite in Building 1which faces the freeway, but it was VERY loud! The noise in Building 2 was still there, but much less notable. In fact, although I could technically hear freeway in building 2, the noise was not an issue AT ALL.

We have only stayed in bldg 2 at HOJOS and I've never noticed the noise. It's very quiet back there. We have also stayed at PVI and it was very noisy. Not the freeway traffic but the kids running up and down right outside the doors. There's just so much foot traffic at PVI it was never quiet.

The noise from the freeway did bother us on one visit when we were in building 2 because we were on the end of the building that is nearest the freeway. On on next visit, I requested to be away from that end of the building. We were assigned a room in the middle of the building and we didn't hear any noise at all, so it does depend on which end of the building you are in. Overall, unless you are in one of the rooms on the very end of the building closest to the freeway, it is very quiet back there. We love building 2 and we'll always request to be there. :)

In November we had a top floor room at this end of the building. You could definitely hear the freeway noise (although it didn't bother me). My sister commented after the first night that she thought we were staying next to an airport, or under the flight path of large jets at the very least. Turns out it was the noise of semitrucks going down I-5. I think if you request a room in Bldg. 2 that is not directly on the freeway side (the building has a bend in it), it would be much better.

FYI there's no "quiet" pool, there's just the pool. There is a "Toddler wading pool with beach-style entry" and "Bubbling whirlpool spa with foot and back jets" over at the water play area, but they have no proper, swimmable, pool over there. So any adult or child who wishes to have real pool fun will be going to the pool, aka garden pool.

Therefore, I can't recommend trying to nap during the day in that room...pool users do get noisy!

In building 2 what floor do people recommend, ground, 2nd, 3rd or 4th?
Many thanks

We have only stayed in bldg 2 and both times we've stayed on the ground floor. I'm happy with that. The less time I have to deal with the elevators the better. We never heard anyone above us either time.

We have stayed in this building many times and on all different floors. I guess my only preference would possibly be a higher floor to get a better view of Disneyland. But we haven't had a problem with any of the rooms we have had in that building.

We stayed on the 3rd floor and it was great, no issues at all. Also, if the elevator was being too slow, or we had just missed it, we would take the stairs. :goodvibes
