We'll be staying at HoJo's for the first time in a couple of weeks. We have a room in Building 2. I called to request a room away from the freeway and was told that none of the rooms in building 2 have problems with freeway noise because there is a hallway the length of the building that seperates the rooms from the freeway on the other side. Does that sound right to those of you who have stayed there? And if so, are there any other requests I should make or will any room we get be fine? This trip is without the kids so we'll only be in our room when the park is closed, so view is of no importance to us at all.

We're not picky so I don't usually make requests at all, but I changed my thinking on that when we stayed at the GCH in September and got the room at the very end of a hallway that was THREE hallways from the elevator. Not a fun trek with the kiddos. :flower:

Here's a map of the HoJo layout - http://www.hojoanaheim.com/pdf/hotelmap.pdf

As you can see, building 2 is at the far end of the property, next to the second pool.

I would move for these reasons:
- that pool is not heated, and is not for kids
- it's a much longer walk from there to Disneyland (which is closer to buildings 1, 3 or 4)

If memory serves, the rooms in building 2 are nicer, but I would ask for a room in building 1 facing AWAY from the freeway (ie, towards the Pool) or in buildings 3 or 4.

we stayed in bldg 2, facing the pool and had balconies (we had 2 rooms). At 1st I was worried about the freeway noise, but we never heard a thing. We really liked HoJo's.... and we got a great entertainment rate to boot! :sunny:

We will be staying at the Hojo next week in Building 2. Can you give me an idea of how much longer it will take to walk to Disneyland? Another 5 minutes maybe?

Thanks :goodvibes

We stayed in building 6...you can go out the parking lot side and the end of the parkinglot is the corner of Harbor Blvd!!! How long does it take you to walk past 20 parked cars??? It's like going to WalMart on Saturday!

I can't answer anything about building 2, as we didn't go in it. Building 6 was very quiet...If the rooms in 2 are all facing the pool, I'd guess they'd be quiet, too. If it's really an issu, you could ask to be moved to 6.

The walk is not bad at all!!! I'm relatively old and truly and sincerely fat and we did the walk at least one direction each day...some days we did the whole thing twice, for 4 straight days!!! Unless you have some sort of infirmity it is NOT an issue!!!!

Thanks for the input! We'll stick with our room in building 2 and I guess I won't need to make any specific requests. The walk won't bother us. All that exercise cancels out any guilt we would otherwise feel for the way we eat while we're there! :flower:

I have stayed at the HOJOs twice and we were in building 2 both times. We really like that building.

The second time we went we spent the first night in building 1 facing the freeway and it was so loud. All sorts of sounds came in the balcony. We asked to be moved to building two and were so much happier. (In our town there is some guy who did not sell when the freeway was built. So the road comes so close to his home. We joked - since we were kept up by noise - that it was like what it must be for that man)

The extra walk is really not bad at all.

Have a great trip!
