I'm getting my recipes together and baking up a storm this weekend! I'm going to make Wishing cookies, peanut butter cookies, Outrageous Cookie Bars (those chocolate chip, toasted coconut, sweetened condensed milk cookies! Yum!) and about 4 or 5 others.

Are you making cookies this season? What kind? :D :D

I'm going to. I usually let my kids go through the recipes and decide what they want to help me make  (other than a mess, that is!)

I did just get a new recipe for Spritz cookies this morning off of msn.com that I think I will try. Othan than that, the one we have to make every year is Zebra cookies. They are chocolate cookies where you roll the dough in a ball, then roll in powdered sugar before tou bake them. When they cook they "crack" and look like stripes. Before they cool you press a Hershey's Hug in the middle. Voila! Striped cookies!

Ho boy, I can tell already this is going to be a delicious thread!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We nake Banana drops, a moist drop cookie toped with butter frosting and a cherry, snowflake sugar cookies and lots more...

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Bon Bons. I'm actually making them now. I have to make quite a few so it takes awhile. It's just sweetened condensed milk, powdered sugar, butter, coconut, vanilla and almond flavoring. Roll em into balls and dip in chocolate. YUMMY!!!!!!

We usually try a new one each year, but I'm definitely going to do a repeat of last year's mini-cheesecake cookies that are decorated like Christmas packages. They were a hit at a cookie exchange party I went to.

I've made it a tradition to make my "famous" chocolate chip cookies every year. I've started making them as large Mickey and Pooh faces recently and everyone looks forward to them!

This year we are doing:
spritz cookies
sugar cookies (in holiday shapes)
pizzelles
candy canes (the red and white dough ones)
snowballs
shortbreads (plain and chocolate dipped)
chocolate chip
lemon bars (like a cross between a shortbread and a lemon cooler)

We also make peppermint bark, truffles, and chocolate covered fruits (grapes, strawberries and orange slices).

I am not maing cookies but will be making home-made Italian Zeppoli however someone promised to bake me some cookies this year.
Chocolate Chip is my fav ;)

I have a list of about 10 things to make this year and have 5 done - all of which I get to start at about 7pm after my 1 year old goes to sleep. :D So far, I have....peppermint bark, snickerdoodles, malted milk cookies, spritz, and kourabiedes (powdered sugar covered sugar cookie). 5 more to go! I'm saving the ones that take longer for the end.

I actually made a few cookies already, but I ate them. :) Some of them I ate right out of the freezer without defrosting them. I'm usually better about that, but between not working and being pregnant I just couldn't help myself. :teeth:

I saw a neat idea in a magazine. They made spritz cookies with the plate that makes a bar-shaped cookie with ridges and dipped 2 opposite corners in melted chocolate. I'll probably do that.

In addion, I'll probably make chocolate covered cherry cookies and sugar cookies with bite-sized Snickers inside.

I make tons of frosted sugar cookies!!! I will be starting that this coming weekend!:D :bounce:

We make the 13 treats of Christmas! They change every year. I have to make up the list this weekend, but there are always frosted sugar cookies, fudge, butterscotch/chocolate rice krispy treats, and toffee! :teeth:

DD and I will be baking for the holidays...She would bake everyday after school if I had the time. We will be making butter cookies, chocolate chip, peanut butter, ricotta, chocolate cheese bites and hershey kiss cookies. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I have about 25 things on my list so far I usually do between 25 and 30 different cookies and candies, so far I have chocolate fudge, peanutbutter fudge, white chocolate macadamia nut fudge and peanutbutter cups.

Anyone have an EASY recipes that they'll be willing to share? I'm trying to find something easy for my 4 year olds. We have to do a cooking projects once a week. I was thinking we could bake cookies to give as Christmas gifts to the other classes.

for those of you already baking: How do you keep them fresh for the next three weeks? Are you freezing them or what? If so, what type of containers work best to freeze cookies? OK, that's three questions. Sorry!

I also bake between 15 to 20 different kind if treats. Some are DH's Grandmother Italian Recipes. Some are just family favorites.

I will not be making them until next weekend. I put then in air tight containers in the freezing attic. They stay very fresh.

HunnyPots,

I was going to post the same questions. I want to know how to keep them fresh too and how long you can keep them that way.
There is only three of us that lives in my house and even a batch of cookies can get old before we eat them all.

wioll bake Choc Chip, White Choc chunk, Oatmeal Raisin, and now that he will have a Kitchen Aide - GOD knows what else LOL!
