Jane: She went to the common room. " Hi Cindy. So, how are you feeling about my ' fury problem' so far?" She decided to wait to tell Cindy what Professor Black told her about friendships and being escorted.

Professor Black: "I figured this was the best way to explain it all," she sighed. "I really do owe you an explanation. I know how your mother works, and it is rather horrible. She'll take the ones closest to you and harm them just to get at you. And when everyone you love is gone, she'll come straight to you. I know it sounds awful, but I'm certain that's how it is." She hoped that Jackson was okay hearing this because it was the best explanation she could give.

Nagini: "You know those two girls that keep getting into trouble, Gabrielle and Jane?"

Jessica: she felt like she was going to drool. This would surely be some juicy gossip if a seventh year went to talk to her. "What about them?"

She'd only been sixteen, and her relatives had taken her as one of her punishments for siding with Harry the past year. "I debated taking you from your parents myself. I didn't want you to have to live through that, but your mother was arrested only a few years later. Your father was alright. I'm sorry, though, that I never told you. I wasn't sure...if your mother broke out I wanted you as safe as you could get."

Melanie felt bad, but she knew his father had been legally responsible, and it would have been considered kidnapping to take him.
