Hodad's In Ocean Beach

Hi All,

A month ago, My girlfriend and I were watching a show on the food network that featured a joint in Ocean Beach called Hodad's. Anyways, We will be making a trip down to Sea World in San Diego in April and I was wondering if anyone on this board has ever been to the joint. Its only a couple miles away from Sea World from what I know.

From what I have heard from various sources. The burgers are very good. The only thing that bothers me is that they use shredded lettuce instead of the iceberg lettuce. Hopefully, I will be able to get the iceberg over the shredded as I cant stand shredded lettuce.

I guess that is why I like in-n-out so much and when I am out west. I am there almost once a day.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hodad's is great! Their milkshakes are HUGE, and the onion rings are wonderful. It's in Ocean Beach - between getting out of the Sea World parking lot and dealing with surface streets getting to Ocean Beach it'll probably take you 15 minutes from Sea World. If you're going at lunch time I would recommend getting there not too much after 11:00 - easier to park and not as crowded. I have no idea what it's like in the evening.

Thanks for the info. We have no plans to go there for lunch. We will be staying at Sea World till about 5:30. That will be when we head over there before we head back up to Pasadena where we are staying for the week.

Hopefully, They will be open till atleast 7 or 8 o' clock at night.

I found a couple of restaurant pages that list their hours as Sun-Thu 11 am-9 pm, Fri-Sat 11 am-10 pm. The seating is open air, so if you're going in the evening take a jacket - it gets cool in San Diego at night, especially when you're right next to the beach.
