Ho! Ho! Ho! Away we go - A Disney Christmas - 2/15 Dec TR final thoughts and FEB TR!

That's great that you got some alone time to just explore MK! Everything looked so pretty!:goodvibes

What a fun night. I would love to explore MK all by myself! A treat in hand none the less.

Thanks for sharing all your beautiful pics!

HDDR sounds like a lot of fun to watch, and the beer, wine, and sangria being included is a nice touch! Too bad about the rest of the food though!

The sleigh ride is such a perfect holiday experience!!! The decorations around the Fort are amazing! People are so creative with their displays!

Hurray for a solo night at the MK with a double scoop of peppermint ice cream! Yum!!! That's one of my favorite kinds!

Hope you feel better soon and are enjoying your snow! We just got rain!

Those are seriously beautiful castle photos! So gorgeous.

What a nice night at Magic Kingdom by yourself. I love that you were able to get both of your toys exchanged without a hassle!

I love that you got a last night just to hang out in the MK. I think I would love that!! I did the same thing~ kept telling myself that I was going to grab some ornaments and then didn't do it. I'm going to make it a priority next year too!

What beautiful shots you got of the carousel horses! I've never taken the time to look at them really closely like that.

What a lovely night, just hanging out by yourself and enjoying one final stroll through the MK! :goodvibes

It was nice! Mind you it was from I guess 9:30 - 11:30 or something like that -- I lost track of the exact time. I got there right before Wishes and left before midnight I know, I think it was a Magic Hours night... the mass exodus definitely happened after the fireworks though, so I think when my kids are older the Evening ME will be a great way to catch rides!!!

Just absolutely beautiful. What a great idea to get some solo time in MK at night. You have some wonderful photos. :goodvibes

Thanks! I did have to take care of the toys, and I really just wanted to see those lights again :santa:

While it is nice to share WDW with the kids I'm sure it was lovely to have some alone time at the magic kingdom too. I love having time to browse through the shops.

We loved HDDR but then it we did it the first evening of our first family trip. We were tired, hot (it was August) and extremely thirsty. Since it was our first meal at WDW we had nothing to compare it too and thought it just fine. Not great but fine. We all thought the show was a riot. That being said I am not in a big hurry to go back again.

You know that is my only motivation for going alone sometime!!! Seriously, just to walk about! I have yet to really explore all of Epcot... The show at HDDR WAS indeed a riot -- totally agree! And like you say it was fine, and it wasn't really the food you were paying for in the end. We enjoyed it no question!

That's great that you got some alone time to just explore MK! Everything looked so pretty!:goodvibes

It really was pretty! I didn't take a ton of photos, my hands were kinda full... :rolleyes1 I wanted to do the same thing at DTD, but I got to do that our last hour before we left for home....

What a fun night. I would love to explore MK all by myself! A treat in hand none the less.

Thanks for sharing all your beautiful pics!

Well, if you stay close, and if your kids are asleep at the time mine go, you can probably swing it! My DH didn't care... one of the benefits of a villa with a separate room... Adults can have time to do whatever!

HDDR sounds like a lot of fun to watch, and the beer, wine, and sangria being included is a nice touch! Too bad about the rest of the food though!

It was great fun and I am glad we did it! I want to squeeze in a meal at the Castle for this very reason. JUST because I want to and have never.. we'll see if I can get DH to agree ... something I want to try at least ONCE!!!

Oh Peppermint ice cream is my favorite, too!!!! LOVE it. That and Eggnog Latte's at Starbucks! I really enjoyed all the peppermint stuff around WDW there were "Winter" menu specials in most restaurants that we went to, either menu items (entrees) inspired by the season, or Desserts... the FFish dessert sampler was AWESOME!!!! :thumbsup2

The sleigh ride was totally worth the extra expense. I would do it again no question. Really a fun cap on the evening. I think next time I would book a dinner at Wilderness Lodge, then ride the boat over to the fort, b/c it puts you RIGHT in front of the location for the sleigh rides...

And YES a little solo time was so much fun! I just wanted to see those darn castle lights one more time :)

WOW, that sleigh ride looked AMAZING!!! I hope we get to experience that someday! Sorry the food was only OK at HDDR but I am glad you enjoyed the show!:thumbsup2

Oh that was a wonderful Christmas Holiday for certain, and we did many special things, the sleigh ride and HDDR... both great fun!

Hope you feel better soon!
:goodvibes

Thanks! I am feeling mostly better, just a soar throat now...

I'm sitting here, still wearing my pajamas, watching the snow fall, and catching up on my TRs!!! What a great long weekend this has been. :)

Yep, that was us! ALL day!! Snow fell fell fell... well ito the night. Blue sky today, still VERY COLD, so the guys will be excited to go back outside today! They were out for an hour or so in the snow, with the FALLING snow yesterday... well bundled up but boys are boys I guess!!

Hope you feel better soon! Holy cow-- 24 days til your cruise!! :yay:

I KNOW!!!! It is in 24 days!!! I can't believe it either!! :goodvibes

I'll be here! :goodvibes

Feel better soon!

Kathy

THANKS! Feeling okay, just still a little congestion. Otherwise fine!

Just did my latest update! :thumbsup2

Fun solo night at MK! Peppermint ice cream seems appropriate during the Christmas season.

Glad you had success with the broken toys - I would't have expected you to run into any trouble exchanging them - Disney's so good about that kind of stuff! :thumbsup2

Since you have boys I thought I'd pass on a tip for the castle (maybe it will help convince your DH). If the boys would wear crowns pick up some king style ones at a party store. My son wasen't to thrilled with the idea of CRT at first but he loved it when we got there. I haden't wanted him to feel left out since I bought his sisters tiaras so I got him a plastic kings crown at the party store, between that and the sword they gave him he enjoyed being a prince and the crown got him lots of extra attention. Everyone commented on the price visiting the castle and Cinderella asked if he was related to Prince Charming. I think he got more attention than the girls. There were so many girls in tiaras that wasen't unusual at all but he was the only boy in a crown and everyone made a big fuss over him.

What a great evening to yourself in the MK! Those castle lights are just so beautiful. :goodvibes So sad it's your last day but we'll have a cruise TR to look forward to soon!!

You are my hero!:worship:
Finishing up and I'm not finished up with our first whole day....
Beeeeuteeeeful pictures of the castle!

I have been hacking around all week long too, can't get enough sleep either.
We didn't get enough snow for that snow day.
Looking forward to your next update, wonder who you met up with....;)

Oh I didn't think I would have trouble with the toys, either, it was just making the time to take care of it! I never leave myself enough time to go shopping!!! :rotfl: Yes it was a fun solo evening, after the boys were in bed it was a great chance to slip over for one last Christmas view! :goodvibes

Oh thanks for this! Yes I am really really wanting to and will probably book it just because... For lunch -- that seems to be a good time. I checked out the reservations and there are still plenty of lunch slots that week, so I have to sign up for TGM again, and confirm my park days and then I will grab one! I am anxious to try it out... I knew about the swords.. I love the crown idea, thank you!!!!

They really really are. So pretty! sigh. I will have to make another trip back during the holidays. I really just loved the decorations so festive!

YES! I will do a cruise TR don't worry! WILL probably add it to my PTR for June!!!

You are my hero!:worship:

Awww, well thanks for saying!!! I just figure I want to get started on the new PTR, and I have my Photopass CD to lookforward to as well, and I will share those when it comes... I am sure you got lots of great photos too, and I can't wait to see them.. you better finish your TR before spring break??!!

OH yes, we met up with some funny folks... :rolleyes1

The castle is so lovely--thank you for sharing the pics!! I am glad that they CMs had no troubles exchanging the toys!! :goodvibes

Thank you! I am glad you are reading along! I figured it wouldn't be a problem and I was happy to know it wasn't.. I am sure it is important to them that they keep their Disney guest happy -- especially the children. We hadn't abused the toys and had hardly used them, so I am sure it was obvious that they were defective. They took care of them! :thumbsup2

Well so I had hoped to make my goal of FINISHING this TR over the weekend, but too much snow play got in the way :lmao:

So that being said, I settled down to get my last day's update done and I realized that I had not loaded my Epcot day photos into photobucket, and now DH is on the main family computer where I loaded them! :headache: SO... he has some planning to do on that computer with files that are also there, not on his laptop, and my laptop doesnt have the pictures :upsidedow SO we are a fine mess! I guess since his is work related, I will allow him to continue, and tonight I will just give you a little hint of what is to come in the next few weeks!

SOOOOOOOOOOOO if you have been following, we booked a short cruise at the end of February, which the first of the month is tomorrow! In 24 days we will be off to take a 3 day cruise on the Wonder! Now we have taken a 7 day Cruise on the Magic back in 2000, we went with my DBIL (of camera-flask fame) and his partner. They are both BIG Disney fans too, maybe not as much anymore -- they probably go on one Disney cruise a year, or to the F & W, but as of late they have been going to DLParis... they have been several times and are actually going in May.... SO I must make a few souvie requests!!!! Anyhow, the cruise was a great time -- and so was the last time we all went to Disney together back in 2005 -- when DS7 was 3 and DS4 was 9 mos old! Thank goodness for DMILs!!! SO my DBIL was in Epcot this past October and went on a cruise as well... He was the one who got me thinking about this cruise idea, and we were chatting about it over Christmas as well, when he came down to celebrate Disney Style with us! The week after we got home, maybe a little longer, a Disney Cruise special was on the Travel channel, and poof! I was sold... and not long after so was DH! It was hard to beat the price, and we thought it would be a fun precursor to the longer cruise we are looking at for 2011. So this is the plan, leave Wednesday afternoon, head to Orlando, enjoy the cruise until Sunday, then head over to Disney's Hilton Head resort for one night, then continue home on Monday... I am curious to try the HH resort.

Oh and we have some fun changes to our summer trip, too! So we are at the BLT June 20 - 25. And THEN, we are staying at the BCV from the 25 - 28th and EITHER staying at BCV - if we can get availability for two more nights -- OR we are staying at Vero Beach for two nights!!! :thumbsup2 We are confirmed at BCV for three nights... we had hoped to get a few more, but we couldn't get availability... we thought to try HH -- NOT a chance, totally booked out. BUT Vero Beach was available. We are on a role trying different resorts, so we figured why not give it a shot? As it is, our Disney summer trip will be 8 nights ... if we can add two extra at BCV we will, we are on a waitinglist, but otherwise we'll extend our stay by heading to Vero... And we thought that could be really fun, too -- a new place for us entirely! I had a bounceback offer booked those days. But instead we were able to get a great reservation from a DVC owner. SO now I have this bounceback still booked that I can change the dates on... the question is when??? !!! :rolleyes1 This is likely going to be a subject that unfolds over the next few months as we wait for our summer trip!

So I plan to wrap my TR up here in the next few days, and then, I will start my summer PTR!!! AND of course my cruise will be folded in there as well!

SO stay tuned AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! I will be back soon!!

So many fun Disney plans to look forward to in the coming months! I am excited because I know it means you will keep doing trip reports! :thumbsup2

I hope your wait list comes through but if it doesn't I think Vero will be tons of fun for all of you! Can't wait to see how it all turns out! Sooo much fun to be had.....:goodvibes

Wow! How wonderful to have so many Disney vacations planned!!

I am green with envy!

Your "me time" at the MK must have been so special...and you got some errands done, too! I never thought of taking pictures of the carousel at night... very pretty.

And of course, the Castle... what can I say? :cloud9:

Kathy

BCV already booked! Yikes. I hope your waitlist comes through too! How fun to have a bounceback to play with. You know my vote is for Food & Wine!! Lobster rolls. :rolleyes1

I hope you are feeling better!!!

I can't imagine a better way to spend my last evening than just strolling along in a holiday decorated MK!!! What an amazing experience! You have some gorgeous pictures...especially of the castle!!!

Wow! I like your Vero plans... we are just a few days off darn it!

Maybe we can meet up on the 20th or 21st quick...and give you some vero tips!
