Ho! Ho! Ho! Away we go - A Disney Christmas - 2/15 Dec TR final thoughts and FEB TR!

We haven't had ONE snow day yet. You'd think way up here in Canada we would. We usually have at least one but so far the real bad storms have missed us. They've hit all around us but missed us.

Great update! A night out on your own at Magic Kingdom sounds really nice. Sounds like you had a good time wandering around and taking in the sights and shops!

Looking forward to your pre-trip report for summer. I think I am finally going to finish up Day 2 from our Christmas trip tonight. :)

She didn't mention names, you know.
You totally sold yourself out here!

Besides, 'motley' means
magnificent
outstanding
terrific
lovely
enthusiastic
young

Right? :)

I was thinking of that rock band or a bunch of pirates... pirate:pirate:pirate:

A HELLOOOOO, I'm reading this!!!!:rotfl2:

Oh this was toooooo funny, yeah, WigD I agree with MeMom, you sold yourself out -- so much for undercover!!!! Don't go hanging out on CP's PTR, you need to practice this "incognito" stuff a bit more...

ROCK band??!!! :scared1: EEEEEEEEK bad hair band from the 80s..... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK now I am going to have nightmares!!! :lmao:

Well the way our boys were running around Epcot I would say Pirates are more like it! Didn't we almost lose them in Mexico or China... :rotfl2:

Okay, well little old me has been up to her ears in work and totally unable to get on the DIS and get going! Even after a snow day yesterday!!!! I still had to "show my face" at work (12 mos. employee) which was fine, because it gave me the reason I needed to stop at the Grocery store on the way home. Now WHY oh WHY might that be important you ask? WELL...... Since Sunday they have been "watching" this brewing storm in the gulf... guess where it is headed?? Yup. right for DC. So, we are apparently going to receive the wallop of snow we received in December starting at 10am tomorrow.... DOES this sound FAMILIAR to ANYONE who has been reading this TR, because it SURE sounds FAMILIAR to ME... like, if I reread the FIRST page of my TR.... TALK about history repeating itself!!!! GOOOOOOOD GRIEF.
Yeah, so I serenely went to the store yesterday, made my way around nice and leisurely. Bought OODLES of groceries, and called myself clever because I was doing what everyone else would be doing with high levels of panic today... so guess what??!! I thought I would "duck" into the store to grab two items I forgot: Hotdogs and english muffins. RANDOM I know, but DS4 LOVES English muffins... so today, on my way back from a meeting I swing by a local store.... PARKING LOT FULL, LINES down the aisles.... NOT the store I encountered yesterday... fortunately I didn't have too long to wait, but I was only two items, so the express went somewhat quicker... that store is going to be empty of food come this evening!!!! It was a MAD HOUSE!

The big snow, 1 - 2 feet they are saying all afternoon, evening, and through Saturday is scheduled to start around 10am.... We have already had FOUR snow days. We budget 5. We have one left. There is talk that they could call school off before it even comes tomorrow, or risk the kids coming home in it... this will be interesting. BUT it took them TWO days to dig us out of the December storm, while I was enjoying myself down at Disney!!!! :) SOOOOOOO I am betting NO school Monday OR Tuesday...

This has been a winter to remember, and it isn't over yet!!!! I am so glad the cruise isn't for another few weeks!!!!

SO I am really really behind in reading TRs and PTRs AGAIN!!! :rotfl: I am going to try and make it up tonight!!!!! :)

Good thinking getting your groceries before the masses hit up the stores!

I hear ya on the crazy winter weather too, we've had it and we NEVER have snow like this - it's insane!

Loved reading about the sleigh ride and also that lucky you had a little alone time in MK running errands!!!! :thumbsup2 Yummy for the peppermint ice cream! We're not having any snow days down here but so much rain that 2 classrooms and the end of 2 hallways flooded at my school. We are having construction. They had just poured cement a couple of days ago and all the water pooled right by the doors and seeped in through the walls!!! It is still raining!!! Yuck! I wish we had rain days. :rotfl:

Enjoy being home with your precious little boys and good luck planning for the cruise!!!

You have got some great Disney plans in the works! I'm a teeny bit jealous.

I can't wait to hear about your cruise, we've been thinking about doing a Disney cruise. They look and sound wonderful. :goodvibes

Oh I will have lots to tell you about it! I just have to catch my breath!!! You are going to help me plan LL, so it will be just like you are there -- I am enjoying your stories too!! :goodvibes

How fun to stroll solo at night, do returns without anyone waiting on you and just enjoy the sights and ice cream! Sounds like a lovely evening!!!

So many fun things coming up for you, I'm excited we get to come along for the ride :)

Oh it was very fun, and the ice cream was FAB. Well you have your own fun planned too!!! SO exciting to hear about everyone's fun, really! :thumbsup2

We'll just miss you this summer. My kids are dancing in a competition at Coronado Springs over July 4th weekend. We're arriving on June 30th so we have a few days until the 3rd when the competition really starts.

Oh NUTS! Well you will LOVE LOVE LOVE 4th of July let me just tell you! We thought last summer was amazing. The Fireworks incredible!!!! You will really enjoy it!

Hmmm...bet that was nice just walking around MK by yourself, enjoying the sights, sounds, smells...oh yeah...and TASTES!!! LOL

It was great fun! I loved having the time to soak it all in on my own time.

You are truly blessed to have so many amazing wonderful trips!! Looking forward to reading about them :) :thumbsup2

Thanks!!! I like writing about them so I am glad someone will enjoy reading about it!!!!

We have Cape May for Breakfast on that Monday... but nothing else planned. Our trip is truly in reversal.... although I wish I had BLT and an AP too. (Although I told Doug if I go back to work full time next year my gift to us all is APs for this summer, next summer and a spring break trip--- but that is not what I want to do... it would be if they force me too)

Great!!!! Well let me think about the timing and I am sure we can coordinate something!!!! :thumbsup2 Well the APs would make sense since you have DVC!!!!! :cloud9:

What a nice way to spend a Wednesday -- playing in the snow with no work to deal with! :thumbsup2 My 7th graders are arriving in eight minutes -- I would hazard to guess I am not enjoying my day quite as much as you are.

HA!!! well it would be a slightly different "enjoyment", yes... :rotfl:

MUCH fun, I had to work for a few hours, but no biggie... we built a crazy fort of snow... I took pics!

Yay for a snow day!! It's funny... all the snow has been missing us to the south. A lot of our snow melted in the warm spell & rain we had a week or so ago. :confused3

It's been cold here recently & I'm sure the snow will be back.

Enjoy!

Well we got it in spades, well we had 6 inches... now we have around 18 coming starting tomorrow.... :scared1:

HappyDog -

hello fellow Marylander (we are now Floridian). Been following your TR as we were there the same week this Chrismas. Enjoying the TR!

Hi!!! Glad you are reading along! Christmas was great!!! I hope your trip was as enjoyable as ours!! Glad to have you here!!! :goodvibes

Sounds like you're having fun on your snow day!!!

My kids finally went back to school today, they were out 4 days total. We've got another storm that is supposed to come in late Sunday into Monday - keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't produce more snow days for us! I'd hate for them to have to make up too many days at the end of the school year.

Yup, we are worried about that too... we had to make up one day back a few years ago... not sure what will happen now... BUT here we go again, starting tomorrow!!! Your boys looked like they had a great time though!!!!

Hurrah for a snow day and for an update coming!! :yay:

Hi There!!!! it is coming really, hopefully tonight!!!!! Things a bit busy! BUT I am anxious to write it up! And to catch up on YOURS!!!!!! ;)

We haven't had ONE snow day yet. You'd think way up here in Canada we would. We usually have at least one but so far the real bad storms have missed us. They've hit all around us but missed us.

Um yes, I would say you have been "robbed"!!!!! Well hopefully or not depending on how you view it, yours will be coming!!! There is such thing as too much luck...we are up for another big storm tomorrow....

Looking forward to your pre-trip report for summer. I think I am finally going to finish up Day 2 from our Christmas trip tonight. :)

Oh I really really enjoyed myself for sure..... and I can't wait to go catch up with your TR!!!!!

We haven't had a single snow day this year either, which is unusual for us! Last year we had 7 I think!

Glad you were able to get groceries! It's nice to know if you have to hunker down, you can!

I love the anticipation of a snow day on the way! Especially if you are all prepared! Have fun!
It seems we are living in some sort of tropical depression here in Kansas.....not but we sure can't get a snow day.....

Can't wait to see the snow fort! Good thinking to head to the grocery store yesterday -- now you will be all prepared to hunker down and wait out the storm. Do you have baking plans? Really, it kind of sounds cozy and fun! Although, I don't want any snow this weekend as we are headed to Atlanta to see the Diana exhibit, but the powers that be aren't calling for anything except rain here in Georgia.

I sure am glad that you got all your groceries because it looks as though you guys are going to get slammed. Much of my family lives in Fredericksburg and some in Annandale and they are not looking forward to dealing with it all again! Thankfully they have changed it here to mostly rain. We've used up our "free" snow days and already have one to make up so I don't want any more!!

Have fun and stay warm!:goodvibes

Wow! You had 7 days?? Yikes! Well who knows here... We will see!!! They keep talking about snow of epic proportions...

Yeah, you have not had a break have you??!!! Well we are getting it in spades... GASP. It WILL be fun, I just want to watch it all come down!:goodvibes

I will do a special winter update post, don't worry! I just got my Photo Pass CD today! I am so excited!

Oh I am sooooo glad I went shopping yesterday. I remember what it was like in December so I figured it would be a good idea, and I can only say thank goodness I did! It was mad in the store at 10:30am today, and I have seen photos on the news of grocery store parking lots jam packed grid lock, and shelves empty!!! hour long lines in the store! ICK! I am relieved that our powerlines are all underground. b/c they say it is going to be heavy snow... But we have a great gas fireplace in our house and we leave that on all day, stay warm, watch the snow falling, wear our jammies, and drink lattes and hot chocolate!!! YES, I just might be baking on Sunday -- I want to get my Valentine's day cookies going, so we will see! :thumbsup2 You are right, it is cozy... I made brownies on Wednesday, so maybe we'll do the same thing! I will be DISing for sure!!!

I will be watching to see how your trip to the exhibit goes!

OH yeah, Slammed is an understatement. They have drawn some lines between areas that will get 1 - 2 feet... we are on that 2ft line... :scared1: Oh yes, Fredericksburg! I remember trying to drive through there in December!!!! :) Oh nuts! WE have one more "pass" then they have to figure out what to do... They have gotten waivers from the county before, so I will be curious if they this year, if only because the budget is so tight... it will be interesting!

Good luck with your snow!!! We are getting some...just not as much as you guys! I like to sometimes get snowed in...it gives me the chance to catch up on things I usually find myself too busy to do because of the coming and going!! I am going to try to get my daughter's room painted!!!

So here we are again! Well at least I got my Photopass CD pics uploaded to share! I did post one on the first page of my TR... More to come! Photos AND SNOW!!!! :lmao:

Wow! You had 7 days?? Yikes! Well who knows here... We will see!!! They keep talking about snow of epic proportions...

It was CRAZY! It would have been more but the snow started a week before xmas break and we'd already had 2 days earlier in the month. We were basically snowed in for almost 3 weeks!!!

The previous year was just as bad but that was ice and wind that knocked everything out. Last year the kids didn't get out of school until 6/26 due to all the snow days. :scared1:

With all the talk about VB bags I finally had to go check them out. :) I had been looking for an everyday one and settled on the Olivia in Java Blue. I am super excited about it - well a little worried about the ties on it - but overall excited. So I wanted to thank you for sending me in that direction. :thumbsup2

I'll be back to check out your photo pass pictures! :)
