Booked Poly with RO discount then changed to BC.
the CM talked me into booking the free dining and 1day passes. I am an AP holder and have TIW. My kids will be 13 & 10 at the time of trip and are not big eaters . After I hung up I ran the # 's and definitely believe the RO discount and TIW is definitely less $ .
I was told to watch for AP discounts because I wouldn't need the 1day ticket and could do the RO and add dining.

I was convinced before I called but the CM really pushed the dining.

Any helpful opinions?

You have to purchase a 2 day ticket to get free dining so you either didn't get what you think, or else you are paying more than you realize or something.

Personally, at a deluxe, with your family makeup and dining habits- it seems that a room only discount would be better than free dining.

You cannot have a room discount and free dining because that's 2 discounts and Disney won't let you stack discounts.

It sounds like you have a BC res with a room discount and paid dining (1 day ticket required). If you have free dining it would have been 2 day tickets and the room would be at rack rate.

If AP room discounts come out you could do a ticketless dining package. You would still have to pay for the dining plan, but there would be a room discount.

When staying deluxe room only is a better deal then free dining.
Free Dining is better if staying mod or deluxe..
You cannot stack discounts like having a room only and free dining but you can get RO and purchase DDP which is what sounds like you did my only question with that is I didnt think AP holders RO required you to still buy a 1 day ticket to get DDP? Id call back for sure!

It was originally room only, when I changed resorts he talked me into free dining you only have to book 1day park tickets I also did is it myself online, anyway I think the deluxe and TIW definitely is better deal

I think thats usually the case for families however if its 2 adults and 2 children that count as disney adults just dollar for dollar (not taking into account actual dining habits) then free dining would be the larger savings.

for s/p/d you only need a 1 day base ticket which was charged to you at kid price probably. Also even the adult credits on the dining plan that's with s/p/d it's kid price. I'd keep the s/p/d b/c don't forget even with AP and room only you need food. You can pay OOP for kids meals or something and use the TS credits more meals if your kids eat smaller portions or more kid like choices

What are your dates? For 4 Disney adults the s/p/d is probably a better bargain than a room only discount.

Are you saying Stay Play Dine charges kid price no matter the age of the child?? If this is accurate it would be a slam dunk:confused3

yep the s/p/d deal is rack rate for the room and child prices for tickets and dining plan for Disney Adults 10+ and kids
