lol.. this is sad... but i am the biggest chicken ... scary movies- hate them..
roller coasters - not a fan but still go on.. lol.. i dont know i could go on
forever.. but yeah so my question is.. what exactly is the haunted mansion?
is it scary or is it jus like.. a ride? lol haha... be honest .. from a chickens point of view!! lol

It is not scary in anyway. It's kinda cute. I don't like scary movies in any way and this wouldn't even be considered scary. You'll be fine and laugh when you get through it.
Enjoy it, I know I will in 5 days!

I don't like scary movies either, but I love Haunted Mansion :thumbsup2 It is a continuous ride (one car hooked to the next), with no fast movements. The ghosts sing you through the ride and it's not scary.

Nope not scary in the least! Its really cute!

Nope its not scary-remember this park is aimed at children! You go into the "stretching room" to begin with, with a moment of pitch dark when they switch the lights off, then you go through to the ride portion which it just a trip through the mansion (and graveyard) All the way through the ghosts are singing to you, at no point does anything leap out at you and you will be sowled over by some of the effects you won't have time to be scared-oh, and you get to pick up a hitchhiker at the end-without spoiling anything for you, its nothing freaky......

You see 3 yo kids coming off begging to go on again so how bad can it be?

As everyone has said, this ride is not as scary as you might think. The first time I went on I wasn't much of a fan of big rides or scary movies (even though you can't keep me away from either now) and I loved it! Go on, sit back and enjoy the ride. There's no need to worry on this one.

Ok I'm gonna be the different one and say, I hate the HM!
I am also a chicken, can't stand any ghost type things, or horror films.
I had to go on the HM after avoiding it for many years when we went on the KTTK tour.
I screamed all the way through it, I had my hands clamped so tightly over my ears. It was just the creepiest thing ever. The only part I could stand watching was the ghosts in the ballroom because I wanted to see the hidden Mickey.
When I got off the ride, the tour guide had to stop and ask if I was ok, because I'd gone pure white and couldn't stop shaking! :rotfl2:

HM is awesome! I don't think it's designed to be scary--even the graves outside are funny. When we took the kids last year we had a little boy in 2nd grade who was scared to death to go on it. I told him to just close his eyes. He did pretty good, and he liked the singing ghosts (the ones that are the three heads...I don't know the name for them). The scariest part for me is that I'm afraid I'll fall before I get into my doom buggy. Anyway, try it! It's just fun!! It's my favorite attraction at DW. :p

Ok.. I love Hm and I don't find it scarey but for those afraid of the dark and creepy things it IS kind of creepy.. with the door knockers and the candelabra (sp?) floating down the hall.. I always felt bad for the poor dog in the graveyard.. LOL. that scene is kind of freaky too.

Again, I LOVE this ride and get a kick out of a lot of it and I rode it as a very small child but for those who are VERY scared.. RIDE IT.. for sure. don't miss it.. but you might find some parts scarey. just remember it's DISNEY and in the car in front and behind you there are probably 4 year olds loving it:)

I was not amused, however, in 2000 a cm followed me out very quietly and right before I left the building GRABBED me and YELLED boo!

im glad im not the only ones the CMs scared to "death" my friend and i were just being friendly and said hi to all the cms at disney so we said hi to one at the HM...bad idea...he didnt say hi to us and kept the HM look on his face the entire time...well we sat down in our doom buggies and right as we were baout to go into the mansion itself he snuck up behind our cart and leaned in and said "good bye!" i must have jumped 20 feet in the air and screamed like a 2 year old... my friend couldnt stop laughing at me...

Stitch I hate to let you in on something but it's FAKE! You ride in a little car slowly and look at FAKE things.. Nothing jumps out at you ,nothing grabs you. It's all very clever and for the time it was built remarkable special effects. I'ts the haunted as in ghosts live there not the gory terrifying mansion.

In my opinion the only really scary part is at the beginning when it is dark. You are waiting to get onto the ride and my problem with it is the closness you feel with everyone around you. This really isn't a problem unless you have a problem with close places.
