The latest sculpture released by the Walt Disney Classics Collection, "Space Suit Figment", went on sale at Art Of Disney in Epcot on Saturday, April 25th. This sculpture is the fourth in a series of WDCC exclusive Theme Park releases featuring our favorite Disney character in a classic pose, and this limited edition of 750 is being very well received by FIGMENT'S Friends! We should know. We were there!

This new numbered limited edition of 750 Walt Disney Classics Collection sculpture captures all the star-searching playfulness of Figment as he hitches a ride in outer space, just as in the attraction. Hand-crafted of fine porcelain, Figment features kiln-fired metallic paint on his space suit as well as a visor on his helmet made of hand-made glass. Space Suit Figment stands 6 1/2" high and retails for $140.00 US.

This FIGMENT masterpiece was sculpted by Jacqueline Perreault Gonzales, who created last year's WDCC "FIGMENT PIGMENT" release, when FIGMENT joined her other Disney character art works.

Her artwork brings together the past and present in a historical tribute to a beloved attraction and its lovable star.

In the original, and now the current versions of "Journey Into Imagination" at Epcot, the hitchhiking spaceman Audio-Animatronic figure has a featured role. This sculpture links the attractions then and now with an enduring image just made for Friends Of FIGMENT everywhere!

In the first Journey Into Imagination attraction, "I wish I could be an astronaut" evoked the power of the imagination to make dreams come true. In the current ride - after his demonstration that "the sky's the limit" - FIGMENT reminds us that past the sky exists the realm of infinite space, and the suggestion that the possibilities that one can imagine are indeed as endless!

Just like last year's WDCC FIGMENT release, there were Internet pre-sales and some sculpts went to California (Figment is very popular with Imagineers). Unlike last year's "sold out in one day" sales frenzy, and thanks to better allocation this year to the Epcot store, a few sculptures are still available on a very limited basis. Each of the pieces is individually signed by the artist, Ms. Gonzales.

"Space Suit Figment" is being sold exclusively at Art of Disney in Epcot for 30 days. If supplies last, after May 24th they will be available at other Art Of Disney WDW locations. Mail orders are being taken now by phone, so if you want to order one (or more than one) from Art of Disney Epcot, call Sue directly at 407-560-4563 between 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If the phone is busy, or after hours, leave a voicemail message at that number and you will be called back.

Ask about shipping options if you are interested in more speedy delivery. Cast discounts apply.

I had mine on pre-order along with a friend (so we saved on shipping to one address). Can't wait to get this one. It's the first of the WDCC Figments that I purchased and it's the cutest one, I think. Must be the spacesuit!
