Ever since my guide told me that there might be a point cost increase in May or June, I've been thinking about it (pause while DH says "but you're always thinking about DVC!). Does anyone know the history of point costs? We bought in last January at $75 per point and it's already gone up twice, soon a third time. When did it go up to $75 per point and from what previous price?

PamOKW,

I think you might have way too much time on your hands;)

However, thanks for the info. I have printed a copy and plan to keep it in out DVC book.

Not only $48.......11 more years of DVC than someone purchasing today and FREE park passes for 9 years!!!! Those were the days!:p :p

WoW!!! In the beginning, it took 9 years for the point price to go up $19! Since 1999, it only took 3 years for the point price to go up $19!! That is a HUGE DIFFERENCE! Unbelievable! Glad I got my points in 1999, wish I could have gotten in earlier, but don't we all!!!
Thanks for the list PamOKW!

At this rate it will be $103 in 2006, $122 in 2009,etc.
Food for thought..........

Yes, those were the good old days...and yes, I toured OKW when it first came into being...and decided "no, timeshares are bad investments,....but if I was gonna buy...this would be it. POOH!

So a kabillion years later I am finally buying in.
I don't know about that cruise price offer...but I know that if you want to make your purchase more of an investment, that by renting out points instead of using them yourself initially, you can bring your purchase price down to 'the good ole days' levels.

I kinda like the idea of finding some WDW employee and going into a partnership with them to get that 15 per cent discount!!! WHoHOO!

Man I look at the price from 96 when we toured the first time and think of how many more points we could have had if we would have done it then ugh makes you wanna cry doesn't it.

Well, if you buy into SSR, you still have 49 years left....

Believe it or not, my resale value went up $19 in 3 months.

Thank you very much Mr. ROFR.

Purchased OKW 12/94 and used the free passes in Epcot on 12/31/99. Had the wife, two of three sons and three grandchildren. Was the park crowded? You betcha it was.
