*** Historical Compiled Listing of DCL Cancelled & Changed Cruises ***

The altered itinerary emails for booked guests on the 8 night spring 2013 Galveston sailings went out August 20, 2012 and opened to the Public Sept 5, 2012.

There was also the time DCL booked people on a B2B: Wonder 7-night Alaska (Seattle to Vancouver), and Wonder 6-night repo (Vancouver to L.A.). Some two months before sailing, DCL told guests they could take one, but not both, cruises because of the Passenger Vessel Service Act.

9/3/12 Wonder 7-night Alaska AND 9/10/12 Wonder 6-night repo (Vancouver to L.A.) B2B -- ~7/xx/12 -- DCL required B2B guests to cancel one cruise.

Wasn't that more due to the law? The cruise itself wasn't cancelled, but it was the first time DCL had scheduled cruises that would violate the statutes. Did they compensate anything for that since they had allowed it to happen and it was so close?

The 16 May 2009 Magic Western was changed on 13 May removing the Cozumel stop and adding in Nassau  because of the H1N1 virus scare

The only time airfare was involved was the 2011 Med cruise that was chartered. They refunded cancellation fees for airfare & hotels. They specifically noted that they would cover those fees. They have not done this as an offer at another time.

For the list.....

The Maiden Voyage of the Magic was changed 2 times..our airfare fees and air price difference was paid for by DCL (I think on an individual basis

MV of the Magic was originally scheduled for March 12, 1998 and then moved to a date in either April or May and then finally to July 30, 1998.

We had to change all our plans several times but DCL was very good through it all.

As of 9/13/13 Disney Wonder sailings on January 19 and 24 will be cancelled for drydock. 25% discount on a future Caribbean or Bahamian sailing up to 7 nights in length, taken within one year of your original voyage, excluding holiday sail dates.

I knew that the Magic's MV had been delayed, but I had no idea it had been pushed back over four months.

10/xx/05 Magic -- xx/xx/xx -- Cancelled -- Dry dock October 1-14, 2005

I believe this was 10/8/05, Western Caribbean (I was booked on it) .

I didn't realize there were so many too! Yikes!

Thank you! I know it surprised me when I actually listed them all. I know there are probably more not included.

Yep, March then to April and finally July 30th!! I can't imagine their resv. department through all that. What a logistical nightmare. Thank goodness they only had one ship at the time.

I guess I don't understand the need to compile a list of changed cruises.
Disney says right up front that the reserved the right to change dates and itineraries.
We have never had a cruise cancelled, but have had ports changed.
Guess I would be upset too if a cruise I was on was cancelled.

Just wanted to note that the Fantasy MV had a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit for ALL category staterooms, not just concierge, and when the date changed DCL allowed booked guests to move or cancel with no penalty for a few weeks after it was announced. Non-concierge guests who stayed on that original sail date or moved to one other than the new MV date had their deposit converted to a normal refundable and transferable one.
