Hiring a Car for 6?

While at Disney we plan on hiring a car for a few days but i am a little unsure of things.

Can i go to reception at the all stars movies resort and book it?

Would they deliver the car to and from the hotel?

Whats the costs involved?

Father in law has never drove in the USA, any tips? Do they provide insurance and stuff.

What id do you need to hire a car?

From the many posts that I've read on the subject both on here and on the Orlando TripAdvisor site people from the UK should book their car rentals with a UK site and get a package that includes insurance since insurance for US and Can. drivers is different. It will be cheaper for you to do it before you leave the UK than to wait and do it when you get here. This is a couple of excerpts from a TA thread:

Its important that you book with one of the car hire rental agencies operating in the UK and get Full cover insurance.
If you book on a US web site the prices will look attractively lower, but this is because US and Canadian drivers are covering part of the insurance themselves.

If you book through a UK operator, they must sell you at least the equivalent of the Silver package and have had to for several years. This was in response to the rip offs that the car hire companies caught us with in the early 90's.
It is the same as our full insurance without an excess and having scraped a bumper last summer and pulled a door handle of this summer, so long as the form is completed and handed back, it is the last you ever hear.
