I have Hilton and Hyatt points but I don't know if staying offsite is worth it. I've havn't been to Disney since 1972! I am taking my 3 yr old son and yr old daughter. We will probably be driving to Disney. I'm planning a 5 night trip and only doing Disney (Oct 08). At Hyatt, Hilton, and Doubletree I have enough points for 4 of the 5 nights and I'm hoping the 5th night would be $150 or less. I am a gold member at Hilton so I think I would get free breakfast and a possible upgrade.

1 transportation - is busses at Hyatt better than Hilton or Doubltree?

2. Location - is the Hyatt location better than Hilton or Doubletree?

3 Which resort has the quickest drive to Magic Kingdom?

I like doubletree for the room size and refig and 2 queens / 1 sleeper sofa
I like Hilton for the extra magic hours and closer to DDT to use their busses
Hyatt - I like the facilities

The Hilton in DTD offers EMH. It has a nice assortment of restaurants and is across the street from Downtown Disney. Technically it is onsite (it's on Disney property) but it is not owned or run by Disney (neither are the Swan or the Dolphin).

I've not stayed at this hotel but I've read good reviews about it. I have stayed at other DTD hotels and my only gripe was with all the resort fees and airport transportation (not an issue for you I take it) they ran about as much as a Moderate Disney hotel. However if it's free with points...go for it!!!!

Remember though that the DTD busses only go to other Disney Resorts..not the parks.
