It says it is one block away. What is that walk like? Is it a nice hotel for 2 adults 2 kids (6 and 2.5). Thanks!

In my opinion, you do NOT want to do that walk, especially after a long day at the parks. It's 1.1 miles to the front gates according to MapMyRun, so that's two miles of walking a day, four miles a day if you plan on breaking! I highly recommend walking across the street to the Toy Story parking lot and using their shuttle instead to drop you off near the parks! I stayed at the Clarion once (same location basically) before I knew about the TS lot and I did that walk. We actually cut our trip short a day because neither of us could walk by the third day!

Its not a block.... A block from the backside of DCA, yes... But not a block to the gates. Figure about 17-20 mins walk. I would pay for ART.

This is a long walk, approx 1 mile. i would walk over to the toy story parking lot and take the shuttle to the parks. it will be alot more convenient.

Yes, there is a cost for the shuttle. I believe it was 7 dollars for a 3 day pass unlimited rides if I remember correctly.

As for the walking distance, the wife and I stayed at the Mariott at the convention center, and while the walk wasn't too bad (about 15-20 minutes to get to downtown disney) it would not have been fun after a day at disney. Get the shuttle pass, it makes it so much easier, especially if you have kids.

As others have said its a long walk. ART stops at the hotel or its a 5-10 minute walk to the Toy Story lots shuttle buses which are free. To get to the shuttles you walk out of the Hilton to the left down Convention Way, past the Sheraton, across Harbor blvd and into the Toy Story lot.

The Hilton itself is an upscale hotel with very nice rooms. Ask for a room near the elevators!!!!! This hotel is HUGE, the largest hotel in southern California. The pool area is nice but I don't believe they have a zero-depth entry or splash area for small kids but we only went to the pool once on our last stay.

The Hilton is a very nice hotel, and the rooms are really nice as well. BUT it is a long walk, around 20 to 25 mins. There's a 7-11 on the corner of Katella and S. Harbor blvd, that's great for cheap water and snacks. Your 6 yr old wouldn't have a problem, but perhaps a stroller would be in order for your younger child. The pool looks really good for younger children, but we never used it during our stay in Sept/11.

Stayed at Hilton last year for a school convention. Elevators were always a hassle to get onto and we had to wait forever for them (if we chose to even use them). The rooms were always clean and really well kept. One thing I did not enjoy was the restroom door, it was a sliding one and I was always terrified one of my roomies was going to walk in on me.

The coffee maker in the room was a life saver and you are provided with instant coffee packets every morning (along with sweeteners, cups, etc.).

The walk to the park was not horrible, but after a long day in the parks is sure is not fun. We got the ART shuttle passes because they were cheap and saved time (they were 4 dollars a day I believe and there was a special price for multiday passes). This shuttle was super reliable, but we always jumped onto the marriott's ART ones because they were always less crowded (across the street, got picked up first on the route). Again, not a terrible walk if you are just popping in and out of the parks, but the shuttle saves a lot of stress!

Overall, nice hotel with some dining services inside (little food court with subs, pizza, mexican choices). Little on the pricey side, but you get security and cleanliness for it. (BTW, target is not that long of a walk away and we stocked up on snacks there for the room!)

We love this hotel! We stay here about every 3-6 weeks. I have a 5 and 3 yr old. Me and the kids go to DL while DH is working. If DH wasn't working we'd walk it. It is a 15-20 minute walk and I always have the double stroller with us. It would be too much for the kids to walk. So, I normally take the ART buses when he's not with us. Then on the last trip we found the Toy Story buses were free. So, now we use that. Kids enjoy the water area. Although, we barely use it. We like the Baja Fresh restaurant in the food court. If you are a Hilton member you get free breakfast. So, we usually eat at the breakfast buffet or Starbucks each morning. If you have any other questions let me know! We'll be back in about a week!

If you have a problem with walking, don't go there unless you intend on getting a taxi or getting a shuttle. I've stayed there on all my trips. It's a nice hotel. Very nice, actually. Very nice staff. They have lots of taxis in the front, if you need to get somewhere.

The walk gets tiring especially after a long day. We usually walk the first two days, and, then start taking a taxi to the front of Disneyland and then take a taxi back to the front of the hotel when the day is over.

The hotel is very nice, though.
