I was looking to book at GV for next summer, but was curious if MS can also book cash reservations at the same time. I am hoping that we can have a family reunion down there, and my GV just won't be enough room. I checked on the Disney website but you can not book for next summer yet, unlike how we can with the DVC. I wouldn't want my other family members to lose out on a reservation. Can I call MS to book my GV and then make reservations for other non-DVC members in my family? How would that work? Would I be charged for those room right then, or is it billed? Also where can I find out the room rates for cash reservations?

Cash reservations from MS at HHI can SOMETIMES be made 11 months in advance. I was able to do so, but it may depend on what time of year you are reserving. I don't think you can see DVC cash rates at HHI online anywhere--at least I have never found the rates. MS can tell you if cash rooms are available and what the rate is. There may be a discount, although I doubt that will be the case at HHI in mid-summer. I have reserved cash rooms at HHI for family with no deposit and I was not even asked for a credit card #. I was told to call 6 or more days ahead if I needed to cancel or I would be charged (billed to my membership, I assume). Good luck! I have only seen online pictures of the GVs at HHI, but they look spectacular. I love 2 bedrooms.

I am assuming that you are booking the GV at the 11 month window? If not I doubt you will be able to get it in the summer without.
