Anyone stayed at hilton head Ga?

What is there around the resorts? any interesting restarants shops etc??

Thinking of having a couple of weeks there next year, but not sure there is enough to keep us busy :goodvibes

TIA

I would be interested in this as well (my mission whilst on hoilday is to convince DH to buy into DVC)

I am interested in this too Obi, Kev will be home soon I am sure he will tell us all about it

Obi ~ There was a great thread regarding HH on the US DVC Board.

Obi, we have a spare Dreams book (DVC) if you would like it !! Lots of info on all the Disney resorts in it.

Thanks Sue, but at the moment I am in the minority at home!!

Princess Leia and Luke are angling to go back to Kissimmee next year, using the excuse of having the annual passes etc, etc,
So i have to win that argument first! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Hi Obi,
We went up to Hilton Head two years ago to play golf.. Harbour Town is on the PGA circuit.
There isn't an awful lot to do, but if you want serious R&R its fantastic! With golfing we didn't stay at the Disney Resort, but I'm sure there will be plenty to do there. Its about an hour away from Savannah, and 2hrs 30mins from Charleston. I would definitely visit Charleston again! So you could have a couple of day trips out?

Wont bore you with pics, but it really is a beautiful part of America,
Hope this helps

Hilton Head Island is pretty quiet, the resort is lovely and great for R&R. If you're a golfer it's supposed to be fantastic. The Beach house is great and we loved the beach. We saw dolphins from the beach!
There are dolphin and crabbing trips. Nature reserves nearby and the good ole south in Beaufort, Savannah and Charleston.
The island is rather upmarket, quite a few small shopping area's with boutique
type shops. Just off the Island is a good outlet mall.

You can always combine the two. Do a few days at HH to unwind and de-jet-lag and then drive down to Kissimmee for the action. (it's an easy drive down)

I think Kev said that there were plenty of places to eat and drink, but, that everything shuts at 10pm, so depends what you are after.
Also, I'm sure he was saying that Disney don't have a bar in the resort if you were thinking of there.

We went for a week - rented a condo on the beach. Great for a relaxation holiday, sun, pool, beach etc. Sitting on the balcony looking out to sea drinking margaritas!:)

Crazy golf, tennis, hire a bike if you want to (too hot to pedal when we went!).

We had a good time - I've read that the Disney property is good & there are plenty of activities for the kids. See if you can do a week here & then fly onto Orlando.

as others have posted, it's very quiet, upper crust, reserved and beautiful...

it's the complete opposite of a disney vacation - this one is total rest....

there really isn't much to do there other than relax...(when we go it's in the form of a reunion - college friends, etc. - so we spend our time talking and eating and talking and swimming and talking and golfing and talking and drinking and talking -- you get the idea)...
