Hilton Head - what requests should I ask for

This will be our first time going to Hilton Head.

When we stay at BWV we usually have requests for the top floor and being close to the elevators. Things like that.

Any suggestions for specific requests at Hilton Head?

We prefer top floor to not hear others foot steps. There is no "ground floor" so you're doing steps either way, just 1 flight or 2. (Unless you are in the main building which has an elevator) You can request marsh view or near pool. We had near pool last year and while it was lovely to watch my husband and 1 child playing in the pool while I read and hung out on the balcony while the other napped, it was a bit loud. The pool was loud till 10:00 every night. This year I will not request near pool. Hoping I can luck out and get a marsh view.

Am I correct that you're in a 2 BR? If so, you'll have to walk up at least one flight of stairs, like the PP said. If a studio or a 1 BR, and you ask for (and get) the main building, there's an elevator from the parking lot. I think just about everyone prefers the top floor. Somehow those floors can make footsteps from above sound VERY loud.

We will be staying at DHHIR for the first time this summer. I am guessing our 2 Bedroom Lock-Off Villa that is wheelchair accessible is not up a flight of stairs.

If I remember right, 2 BR Wheelchair accessible are in the main lodge, made up of a 1 BR and studio put together. Although it's on the first floor, the same floor as Big Murgie's Den and the check-in, it's one floor up from the parking lot and there's an elevator.

Just so you know, the only top floor one bedrooms are in the Main Lodge. Those are the ones we like the best, but (to our surprise) we had friends who were disappointed they were in the main lodge and not in one of the other buildings. We love Main Lodge, top floor.
