Hilton Head Trip Report--UPDATE SSR TRIP REPORT

OK, so, here we are, after driving 15hrs, and coming into HHI today...WOW!! This place is AMAZING!! The theming is incredible!!! Its SO DISNEY, not being in Disney!! We checked in online, and our room was ready at noon...We got a studio, and its great!! What a great layout!! We went swimming, and its a great pool!! AND, if you want DVC Stuff, COME HERE!!! I bought the new DVC members hat, and got Jess the new pink DVC shirt...Great finds, new sweatshirts, new pins, everything!! The CM's are very friendly. This place is great...We did not try the beach, we were told the water is very murky. We are so happy we are stopping here on our way back, and will absolutely make this a must do vacation:

Glad to hear that you like it so far. I can't wait to keep reading. We're driving down from Mass on the 22nd, so we'll have pretty much the same drive.

We drove down 91 South, to 95 South, through NYC and into DC in about 5 hours! We left at 9am!! Only problem I found, my GPS took us I290 around DC, instead of straight down 95 South, and we hit VA traffic. We stayed in Florence SC, at a Comfort Suites. Then, 3 hours into HHI. We drove from 830am until about 1115pm, and that was with traffic, and gas, potty and lunch and dinner stops.

The resort is full, but, there was no one at the pool this afternoon!

I'm always so happy when first timers go to HHI and truly appreciate how warm and inviting it is. One of the best vacations EVER!!! Please say hi to Dottie in the Mercantile from me and everyone else who misses her on the DIS! Have a wonderful stay, and thanks for sharing with us!!

We met her today!!! She was working and we talked awhile!! Very nice lady!

So, we walked the resort...Amazing..Spent time on hammocks, and spent time on the rockers overlooking the water...Then, back to the gift shop, and some DVC Items....Then, off to campfire!! Jake was picked as the official bell ringing campfire starter!! It was great!! And the smores were amazing!!!

Now its off to SSR tommorow, so no report until probably Sunday!!!

HHI is worth EVERY SINGLE POINT to stay!!!

Oh my! More competition for HH rooms! Glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you have a really nice time at Disney.

By the way, all the studios are nice and big! The ones in building 12 may be a teeny bit shorter then others with slightly smaller balconies so when you come back if you get a resort or building 11 room you will be further amazed at how spacious they are.

Ok, finally at SSR!!!! We arrived about an hour or 2 ago, and we checked right in, no wait...We are in Congress Park, 2nd floor room, right by the bus stop!!! As usual, SSR IS GORGEOUS!!!!! The CM's were great, gave Jake his first time button and let him pick a pin off the board...Then it was cheeseburg flatbreads for lunch, and unpacking!!! NOW, we are off to DD to shop, then back for swimming and relaxing!! We love this place, and THANK YOU DISNEY for the wonderful gift!!!

Thanks for posting the HH pics. We have vacationed there three times and added on to our WDW vacation 3 nights at HH on the way back. I am majorly out of points so we are paying cash with the DVC discount. We need a 2 br, so ouch, but we are thrilled to be going back.

Just got back from DD...If the crowds there are like the parks, it is very quiet!! Shopped at Lego Store, World of Disney, and of course, Disney Crack, er pins!!! Checked out the new vinylmation store, it was pretty cool...Now, its pizza delivery, swimming, and a good nights sleep for tommorows Magic Kingdom Day. Mothers Day breakfast at Chef Mickeys and Jake becomes a pirate at the pirates league!!

So, today started out with Chef Mickeys. Mothers Day Brunch, and, unknown to us, a little more costly and more items, such as Salmon and Prime Rib on the menu. WORTH every penny, we absolutely love Chef Mickeys. Jakes 1st time was great! He met the characters, got autographs, and had a great breakfast. From there, we monorail into the MK. Jakes eyes went so wide when we walked down main st. Our first stop was the Pirates League. They turned Jake into Thomas Wavewrecker, a pirate. If you have a little guy or girl who is into Pirates this is worth every penny! They transformed him into a pirate, complete with sheath, sword and entrance into the super secret pirate room, where he found and picked out treasure. His first ride was pirates. He loved it! From there, it was Magic Carpets, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Philharmagic, dinner at Cosmic Rays, Indy Cars, TTA, Space Mountain (Jess sat that one out) and finished with Monsters Inc. It was great, they focused on a 5yr old behind us, and when he turned shy, they said "See what happens when you turn 6, you grow a beard" and put Jake on the big screen!! Awesome!! Then a couple stops on Main St, a couple balloons and back to SSR for swim and relax! Tommorow, its off to AK! OH, and, our guide left us a nice message, welcoming us, and wishing Jess Happy Mothers Day! He is a good guide! Pics to follow, having problems with my FTP site.......
