We are thinking about planning our next dvc trip to HH. Would love to get some feedback on the resort and activities, as well as the surrounding area.

Thanks :Pinkbounc

we visited in 98 and bought our original points there. we really liked the resort, very laid back. hh is a golfer's heaven, but there are many other activities as well, horseback riding, beach activities and boat excursions. we did a dolphin excursion that was a lot of fun and a great way to see the marshes and the shoreline of the island as well as dolphins and other sealife. we went over to another of the islands and walked around on the island. it was a neat vacation and we do recommend the adventures for the kids. bring your own or rent the bicycles for your stay. lastly, it isn't too far from charleston for a day trip. we thought it was a great vacation spot.

I'm from CA originally and can honestly say there is nothing like HH anywhere else. Start with thinking of Laguna Beach in the 70's, when it was still smaller, a laid back beach community, then sprinkle in some southern Civil-war era history, add a lot of summer heat and humidity, a dash of spanish moss, the colors blue and green as you look over the marsh, and there you are.

It's the only place I've ever been where you will see teenagers and their grandparents hanging out on the beach together; very family friendly, no thongs or loud radios, on top of that the ocean is 85 degrees in the summer!

Tons to do---bike/walking paths everywhere (and most are set apart of the main street traffic), kayaking, crabbing, dolphins, golf, trail rides, lots of restaurants, outlet shopping, nature tours, loggerhead sea turtle nesting, para-sailing, tennis. We come here every summer and still find new things to try.

Plus, something about the natural beauty of this place---you find all your cares just drifting away as total relaxation sets in. It's a great place to unwind.

You'll love it....

I love HH and have stayed at the DVC property as well as non-Disney properties on many occasions. If you have some flexibility about your dates, I would encourage you to NOT go during the thick of the summer crowds. Traffic can be a nightmare and wait times at restaurants can be very long. HH weather is pretty decent most of the year with spring and fall being the most delightful, in my opinion. Try Marley's for dinner...funky Caribbean/Key West motif and yummy food. And defintely rent bikes to explore the island! Good luck!

How's the weather in Feb. / Mar.? Water Temp? We are looking for a winter getaway and have some points that need to be used.
